Never a dull moment in the offshore world
Feel for the poor guy whose boat it is.

Considering I Find Social Media to be a Soul-Sucking Void of Meaningless Affirmation, I don't have Facebook. What's the deal?
|
Not entirely sure……
From what I read….guy was buying a Spectre. Was behind with payments, attempts to settle the matter failed. Spectre liquidated the loss by selling the boat to someone else. Boat was ready to be delivered on the 1st January. Shop was apparently broken into and boat has apparently been taken by original purchaser who is now claiming that it was “given” to him to settle the matter. |
Sounds like a normal monday on oso years ago.

I seen the post saying boat was stolen.
man what a **** show. |
I mean here’s the owner or who knows what of spectre.
https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/ci...tion-equipment same type of crap, patterns don’t change. |
Boat was recovered in South Carolina headed North, 3 guys in custody says Todd.
Crazy drama hard to know what is fact and what's not. Both sides seem shady but haven't dug that deep yet. Todd Lamb Spectre Powerboats posts some convincing posts all over social media. Terrance Weber has posted links to multiple other supposed negative public records about Todd, his wife and Spectre Powerboats. (I haven't read them all yet) all over social media. Would be fun to start a thread on here with all the info in one place! Here's one of many posts and comments https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8cabb0cc88.jpg |
Has anyone figured out who is in the right on this deal yet? Obviously this Todd Lamb fella has been in major trouble in the past, for seemingly similar issues...but that might be damning him with old evidence?
|
Let me guess, Florida?

2 sides to every story. Some points that stand out.
1. Buyer stated he kept raising the price after a contract agreement. If this is the case the contract will prevail in court. 2. If Spectre did sell the guy's boat. A check should have been issued to the buyer. Not hold onto the money. 3. The owner of Spectre has had similar past issues and may have had a history of this type of behavior per the buyer who seems to have news articles. 4. The buyer lost his patience with the legal system. Go figure. This country is deteriorating, and no one is doing the right thing. The political system is destroying government. 5. Both guys are attacking each other on social media. The problem now becomes google these names and a lengthy history is tagged to your name for numerous years. 6. Since both gentlemen own a business the destruction of reputation is worth more than the value of the loss. 7. The buyer of the boat by stealing the boat will have his case heard and settled in criminal court in one lump. |
This sounds very familiar, with another boat builder from South Florida.

6. Since both gentlemen own a business the destruction of reputation is worth more than the value of the loss. [/QUOTE] If I were buying a new boat I would not consider Spectre. They are a bunch of money and there are many solid companies to do business with. Even if the claims against Spectre are 100% bull****, it will definitely affect them. |

I’ve always liked spectre’s had a lot of seat time in a buddies 36 (he had two). They’re fun boats. The new ones are bad ass. Ran the 32 with ilmors a few years back while testing it with powerboat mag. They’re great boats. But MAN! There is never a shortage of drama wogh
that company. Changing hands, lawsuits, in fighting etc etc. drama just follows that company. |
This thread is a Christmas miracle. Makes me really miss the old days of OSO.
Thanks Spectre for being so dysfunctional... |

Several threads deleted because he was not an OSO advertiser |
Wasn't there a situation with a member here named "chuck", and Spectre/Jay Pilini? Chuck never saw the boat that he paid for?

Our legal system is frustrating to say the least. It is broken.
I sure hope that guy's attorney did not advise him to go pick that boat up. In any situation that was the last option. Lastly, don't post your criminal activity on Facebook! Jesus! |

Likely not, criminal case will have nothing to do with the civil case. Judge will not care about the built boat, the criminal case will focus on the stolen boat only. One thing for sure, the lawyers will be getting rich first. |

Correct. It was the multi color Sonic CC. Don't think Jay has ever done anything like being talked about here. |

Todd seems to have a history of screwing people. Probably building boats hoping to make a buck and just keeps getting deeper and deeper "in the hole". The buyer gets fed-up with whatever transpired and shows up and takes a boat......ANY boat. I saw somewhere that the buyer claims Todd gave him the boat but I got the impression from that comment it might have been "coerced". |
I guess it still surprises me that in this relatively close-knit community, this stuff can and obviously DOES happen. A lot of you guys are either movers and shakers in this world or hob-nob with those folk yet some uh...people with certain moral ambiguity...can seemingly THRIVE.
SMH |
It's a shame because Jay had originally built Spectre into a great brand. At this point, I would not buy a boat that wasnt from the "original" Spectre. 1997ish-2005ish?
Even if Todd is 100% in the right, why would you ever post it on social media? Drama drama drama. There are plenty of manufactures in legal battles...none of which chose Facebook as a proper outlet. |
The Todd Lamb/Spectre interstate fraud continues
Todd has now sold a boat with UCC liens to a realtor out of Michigan Mike Lucas a known fence and associate of his criminal enterprise.
|
Unreal no ethics :readinghelp: I bet some of these clowns grab huge down payments drag feet for a year and collect 5 - 6% from banks ??? Settle and still walk away with your funds and no boat ? Sad & Evil lawyers make out!

Wow. Always nice to see a clear judgment on something that has had a lot of back and forth accusations. Its too bad some of the victims were drug through the mud online while all this BS went on.
