A 500HP big block isn`t rocket science, any halfway decent builder can do that in his sleep.

Bingo. It ain't that the builder doesn't want his "secrets" getting out. We all have our doubts he even has the basics, let alone any real secrets. He wants to preserve his ability to continue, as you put it, abuse his customers. The only reason the builder agreed to take the engines back in was to prevent PQ290 from sh!tting his name all over the interwebs and turning his shop into the tomb it probably should be.

Can't you just order one of those from GM? ( 19433160.html ) Quite a few folks on here have run the ZZ502 in their boats with good luck. At 10K per motor making 500+hp , and still have your old ones to sell. I have not read all of the threads, but if 500hp was the goal, why would this not be the easiest rout to it, and prob. the cheapest reliable engines at that power level??? No one asked for my 2 cents , but there it is anyway.

Sounds like the dude in Texas with "The magic Room". Complete with automatic weapons and engine secrets worthy of a Medal of Freedom.

Or did it? OP doesnt know enough to say yay or nay on changes, if anything really will be done, and he cant run it by others, who have already alerted him to issues. Recipe for disaster, the way I see it.

Are people really this butthurt that he’s not sharing what his builder says he’s going to do? If 500hp isn’t rocket science then why do we need to know what he’s going to say he’s going to do to get there?

Nobody cares what the builder is going to do, other than keep screwing people over. That part pisses people off.

The aggravation is rooted in the fact that OP posted, seeking advice, got it from an impressive number of well-heeled sources, most of whom were advising he ditch the dude that screwed the engines up to begin with, only to ignore the best advice he could have hoped for and took the engines back to the guy who screwed them up to begin with. It's like pissing in the wind....

The middle finger to everyone is fine with me too, just burned all the bridges on here so next time he has a question you can take the time out of your day to help him out I GET WET.

Personally, i like these winter threads…not alot of them at same time, but okay like now. Lol.
