i put a big outboard on an old mfg 16 footer one time it was a smooth bottom rounded on the sides and only a little center keel it was an evil handling beast it would just rollside to side and almost roll over cornering thats how i learned what lifting strakes on a hull do!

I agree with you they are a beautiful thing. "The" classic looking hull and I see nothing wrong with that. No one else has had the long term success that they have had with their small boat production. Who wouldn’t want to take an afternoon blast through some decent chop at 50 or 60 miles an hour in a 22 Donzi? I grew up doing that in a 60's 16’ Donzi and loved those boats. When the 22 was introduced it was no doubt at the top of the speedboat food chain. Posts 18 and 36 have some examples of speedboats.

Is the 6.2 a LS based motor?
