The 6.2 moniker makes everyone think they are LS.
The "original" 6.2's were standard bore 350 blocks with 3.75" stroke cranks. Comes out to 377CI (6.2L).
Mercury's new 6.2's are a clean sheet in house design they say. Article about them.
Appears old school SBC with maybe LS valvetrain.

Kind of a shame too because Ilmor is marinizing the 6.2L LT4 from GM marine for Mastercraft wake boats (630HP @ 5500, 665 lb-ft @ 3800 RPM) and Malibu is doing a version of it also in house.
Compared to Mercury's 350HP 6.2.
