I built a battery box for the house bank on my cabin cruiser and used this style. They cover the large post and threaded terminal.

OK, now I'm embarrassed to say I used to be a machine tool electrician and my wiring looks like crap. This is my next project, thanks for the perfect example of how to do it right.

All could have been prevented with one fire extinguisher that was brought onboard before work started. Or one already onboard that was handy. Expect the unexpected.
One would think that the boat would be closer to shore. So you wouldn't lug all that oil to the T-dock.
