Ah, I assumed you had 5x450 CC. I’ve never seen one of those with them

Every vessel that goes very fast is dangerous. Like guns, it’s about the driver/user. I would confidently ride the fastest cat driven by people like Jimmy Lee, Johnny Tomlinson, Marc Granet, and countless others over a moderately fast boat driven by a checkbook captain. My first move after buying my Gladiator was the Tres Martin driving course. It’s gives you peace-of-mind knowing the risks, how to mitigate them, and how your boat acts and responds.

If you are serious about getting a cat or fast V and you are asking these kinds of questions, your life is worth the price of the Tres Martin course. Good luck.

Totally true. Gladiators are like Ferraris. A raging beast with unbridled rage that yearns for an experienced handler to let her run. But if you put a checkbook captain with the wrong ego in the seat, might as well wear body bags from the dock.

Trust the builders and designers. Get the training. Operate it to your comfort and experience level, and properly judge the conditions, you will never be the subject of an accident thread on this site.
