BTW, it is my understanding, if you accept payment of any kind on a boat, ex, gas money, you are a charter. Lunch etc, IDK ? Licensed Captains want to chime in?

If it’s like aircraft rules, you can accept a portion of the expenses without a commercial license.

I am a licensed captain, there is a huge difference between payment for services (charter) and payment towards expenses (gas money). Typically charters are booked and paid for with a credit card or bank card, and there is a paper trail that states you are operating a vessel commercially. A guest handing you $100 for whatever does not in any way constitute a commercial situation.

We never have anyone with us that doesn't understand the boating rules since the people that ride with us mostly have boats of their own as well
Here's our rules:

No shoes
No tanning oils or sprays
no pink or red drinks
no glass bottles
DO NOT put your empty cans in the cooler
all trash goes in the trash bag
please bring your own drinks and food, unless we tell you we've got it covered that day
help wipe the boat down or at least offer to help
please tell us ahead of time if you need to be back at a certain time
don't worry about gas since we are going out anyways with or without you, but the offer to buy is appreciated anyways
please dry off on the swim platform before stepping on the hatch cover and entering the cockpit
the towels are covering the seats for a reason so please leave them covered
NO DRAMA AND ACT LIKE AN ADULT!!!!!!

It's not really that long of a list, but mostly common sense to most boaters who work hard to keep their things looking nice.
