My friend decided to go ahead and try listing it for sale here and locally but I will have to track down and get a title for it and make sure that's all good before bothering anyone with a sale on it. He bought it as a repo from the bank I believe and isn't sure where the paperwork is. He did also say they were fresh 454's put in it but of course they've still been sitting years. If I have to file for lost title it's a simple process but requires a bond (w/ book value over 5k) here in VA and I know people get a little weird about that so I'd much prefer to get a regular title if I can. Hoping the bank is the last registered owner so it goes easy.
He runs a business and I'm effectively retired so that's why I'm handling things for him, in case any of it sounded weird. Just helping him out.

tks,,,,i do lots of restos and lot involved in redoing dashes and other components to be able to use todays electronics old hull had smaller dashes filled with guages and no room for big screens and smartcrafts,,,,so the custom fabbing gets up there,,,lol
i still used analog tachs and water pressure guages and pop up indicators as i like them in my peripheral vision looking ahead at the water in the slop than looking down at a screen
but with the 2 garmins still have smartcraft to pull up if want
but did come out nice and did the tripps as i get 50+ miles away from my trailer all the time,,,,and if hurt a motor still jump on a plane and cruise back,,,,
looking forward to poker runs in it this yr,,,
u can email me pics and i can post them for u,,,

non.....30 second pause between posts....sense
lol (I used to run forums so I take no offense to the limits)
Boat was sold at auction at a foreclosure sale by a local bank upon the death of the previous owner to settle his outstanding loan so title work is going to be interesting. Have the bill of sale from foreclosure and statements from the VP of the bank at releasing it, and it was done in 2019 so not too long ago.
Every owner of this boat appears to have defaulted on its loan (3 owners)...currently no liens on it so I guess that's good

Just confirmed that my friend is the last documented buyer with the Coast Guard and no liens so he can sell it, so there'd just be the paperwork that's filed to transfer ownership.
My apologies again for being vastly ignorant of this title and selling process, just really wanted to make sure everything was ok to sell it before wasting anyone's time. I did not know it wouldn't have a state title, so that's new territory to me. I plan on getting some good pictures of the interior and seeing what we can do about the trailer title.
The boat was capped off and winterized by a local company about 5 years ago. Would there be any recommendations on dealing that? Should we bring it out of winterization (he's a mechanic and we're familiar with engines, if not a little naive on boats) or would it be best to let the next owner deal with that?
