As Toby Keith said, some of us are more willing to pay for a tag in the back that says MADE in the USA

I will also say that made in the USA doesn't mean what it used too, but I feel that's because we're shipping so many things to other counties

What that senile Communist moron that can`t put a sentence together is doing to this country Brazil will be building boats in the US soon, 12 million illegals are looking for jobs. Sounds like cheap labor to me.
We`re becoming a banana republic , 3rd world **** hole rather quickly.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember some of the older wooden cougars being built in Brazil and I believe it was done because of the build quality. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably due to the raw material of local wood species, itself. South America in general exports a ton of unique wood as well as granite.

We can focus on the craftsmanship and innovation this builder is bringing to the table and not preconceived notions founded in ignorance.
Brazil has never ever been known for building performance boats for the public’s use worldwide or use in America. Never in my lifetime have I ever seen a boat on display in the NYC boat show, Miami boat show, or in OSO or even back in the day in Powerboat Magazine as touted as made in Brazil. I have never heard of Brazil being well known for boat building excellence for performance boats or for any boat. Those are facts not subjective opinion or ignorance. I have never ever saw an advertisement for a new or used boat for sale that has “made in Brazil” as the hook to persuade the buyer that this is the best product in the marketplace.

There are zero preconceived notions, my opinion is based on 60 years of experience, there was zero white versus nonwhite racial bias in this thread as posted earlier by Nate 5.0 in post #30 (fyi my wife is beautiful dark complexion Cuban woman). The bottomline is Brazil does not now nor has ever been known for excellence in manufacturing performance boats.

There is no ignorance, just opinion by others in support of Statement that are counter to the other posts in this thread. Discussion is good.

And … I do like the Statement Cat and 42 foot V so I am not anti-Statement, I wish Statement continued success.

But to assert some posts are ignorant about the facts of subbing out boat manufacturing to a Brazilian factory is not accurate. This is just not a common practice by the performance boat industry.

Hire talent, pay a fair wage, employ Florida workers, if built in Florida, and continue with great success. Statement boats have a great reputation.
