For getting the mineral deposits off, I usually just use some mild acidic cleaner like Zep tile/shower cleaner or toilet bowl cleaner. The best metal polish I have found is White Diamond.

im not 100% sure on that as I’ve only used it after each use on exhaust tips, props to get the hazy mineral deposits off. Lake Havasu has really hard water and this happens everytime you run there. I’ve also used it from time to time for transom soy and discoloring too.

stuff is MAGIC though. Get the item wet, spray on biokleen, use a wet rag to kinda rub the area around a bit, then spray off. Half the time you don’t even need to use a rag. It’s truly amazing how well it works.

Autosol metal polish in the tube.

Just a micro amount on a blue shop towel. Doesn't take much, but cuts and cleans while keeping it all polished.

I agree with you on the white diamond polish. I've used many different polishes, but that one works very well.

Griff, never knew of white diamond polish. Thanks for the recommendation. I've used white cake compound on a polishing wheel to polish small car parts before and it is magic. I'm going to get some of the liquid and try it.

We all have our favorite metal polishes.

I've used a lot of them, and that one is the one I always circle back to.

Couple thoughts:
Look into Shark Hide for a final layer of protectant. It works well.

Also, see if you can find someone from a truck stop or truck shop that polishes wheels and fuel tanks and the like. They will polish just about anything you are willing to pay them for. (Get your mind out of the gutter). And setting up a routine visit may be a good idea.

Brian I`ve used Shark Hide , it`s a tough coating.

Personally, I have not, but it says it works on such.
