I am removing a 180 hour ASD7's from my Skater in the coming month and will be selling them off. Converting to Outboards to get rid of the Maintence on the BB's.

Please contact me at 734-748-2479 Mike Novak about the drives if interested. I am not able to get into the Private messages folder because I have not posted enough?

For someone in the industry such as yourself, posts like this are certainly not going to help your reputation in this very small industry. It makes you look arrogant and foolish at the same time. Here is a picture of Mike's 2016 308 w/ ASD 7s on it - I've seen the boat personally when I was at Skaterfest a few years ago. Mike has also reached out to me recently with questions concerning his re-rig, as he knows I have already gone through the process w/ my former 30/ASD7 rig. He's a very nice, knowledgeable Skater owner and certainly doesn't deserve a disrespectful post put up about his boat that is a fully legit, built-and-rigged at the Skater factory, 308/ASD7 rig.

Man that would be a shame to turn that into egg beaters .. the lines of that boat are beautiful.
Why not sell and buy a boat designed for OB`s?

No comparison, my 30 was an incredible boat for its size with the Sterling NA 800s/ASD 7s combination. The problem was that we couldn't stop the drives from having catastrophic failures that I was afraid were going to kill me at some point, especially seeing as the boat was capable of 150+ mph speeds. It was still a very good boat for an outboard boat of its size with the tuned 400Rs (127mph best), but absolutely no comparison in performance or ride quality after it was converted.

The 30/308 was designed for outboards, the plug and mold have a notched transom for outboards. I placed my order in 2003 for the first one to ever be built before the plug was even finished - Pete designed the boat as a successor to the 28. At the time I placed the order in 2003 for the first one to be built, Mercury was rumored to be coming out with a new 400hp motor and my 30 was going to get these new motors. However, at MIBS in 2004 the new rumored 400hp motor was not unveiled, and it became known that this new motor would not be out for a while. Since I already owned a 28 w/ 300s on it, I wasn't about to build a new boat and have it not go as fast or faster than what I already had, so we went to plan B. Pete said that inboards and ASDs would fit and probably work well in the boat, so we changed the order from outboards to inboards, filled the notch once it was out of the mold and the rest is history! To this day, it's still the fastest Skater ever built powered by naturally aspirated, pump gas motors (this statistic is according to Pete). The pics below are of the hull plug completed with the deck plug being built, with the second pic below being my build in the mold - March of 2004. Last pics are of the motors (588ci/800hp) that were originally in it and the GPS recall.
