After 25 years at LOTO and having owned several boats, I would agree that 32' is the sweet spot. It is long enough the straddle the waves, yet small enough to still dock at most places. That said, there is a world of difference in 32' hulls. I really like to Formula Fastec as it has a stepped hull for speed and the boat is built very, very well to handle the rough water at LOTO.

I've been on a formula 312 Fastech at LOZ and was surprised how well it handled true washing machine conditions. It's not fast, but rode much better than a 29' Formula. I'd guess top speed would be mid 60's...? I really don't see many around here. I generally find formula's boring-ish, but all in all they're a great package. Timeless shape...

The feature I appreciated the most was the length - still compact enough around every dock with just enough running surface to cruise...

If you are going to run weekends, get as big a boat as possible. Might as well buy a used 48 SeaRay or something because that is all that is out there on the weekends. Besides that, the WP lets them do as they please.

The best riding and probably the one of the fastest will be the 33 Active Thunder that Big Thunder has listed....and they just had a huge price drop on it 2007 Active thunder 33 Evolution 8500 Lake of the Ozarks (bigthundermarine.com)

Donzi 28ZX made some singles which is probably about the heaviest you'll find and with a good hull for waves. There are not a lot of boats bigger than that in single engine form. Fountain made some in that range, Formula too. There is a 27 Formula in the classifieds now with pretty good single power and an imco drive.
Maybe some velocity's are out there too.
