Hey, Raven!
I've got a buddy who was in charge (do they call this a flight chief or something like that?) of an F-111 at Lakenheath from around '87 thru '91 or so. His baby made runs over Osama's stomping grounds last go-thru. He was always the most anal perfectionist guy I knew (we dragraced cars and raced mx bikes as teens together). I'm sure his plane was immaculate.
He now works for a major commercial airline as a maintenance supervisor. He is appalled at the lax standards poresent in the industry from cost-cutting and cheating. He refuses to fly commercial.
If you knew any of the Lakenheath guys you may have run across him. Mike DeGuira. Not sure of his rank.
