Stand up to sit down.

Getting the itch for a change. Thinking about going to a donzi ZR. I am a little concerned about going from stand up to sit down. Any others do this transition? Love to hear from cat owners also. Thanks in advanced

Owned both sit / stand and driven both as well. Definitely like stand better, especially when going fast. Always been V bottoms, no cats.

Once you go sit down cat you`ll never want a V or to stand ever again.

The DONZI ZR is a stand-up boat. Kinda both, you can drop the seat bottom and stand up, or raise the seat and sit. Should be a non-issue.

I prefer to sit while driving and stand while docking.

I have had a 35ZR and sat most all times driving, very comfortable. Even in very ruff water, sit down is fine.

I currently have a 28' LaveyCraft ( sit down ) and love it.

Building a 36' TUFF and it will be sit down also.

Did you mean a ZRC?

ZR’s still have plenty of free board but feel like a sit down when you want to

im shocked to hear that…can you explain why?

Over the past 40 years I have owned allot of stand up boats and always thought that sitting down seemed a bit strange, until we bought the Skater that is. Now I find that sitting is much more comfortable and can actually give you more control in rough water. I now find myself lifting the drop out bolster back up and sitting while driving the Formula. I never thought that I'd admit it, but sitting sure is nice!

I have a V bottom but sit when running, and in the rough like sitting with the tight seats the Fountian has.

STand to dock or when we are moving slow.

Been in small cats and they are always sit down, would love to see what suspension seats are like.

I've always been in Stand Up V's until 5 years ago. Here's my take.

Any serious rough water boating there would be no better shock absorber than your legs if boating in a V.
After logging a ton of hours in some OL sit downs, I'd prefer them over standing up. They did have suspension seats, so that helped.

My current ride is a OB Cat. feels like driving a Ferrari, and gives you that race car feeling while driving. Also being out of the wind IMHO is huge. I can even wear my hat forward and have a conversation.

(Note) when backing into a well, I turn around and face the transom and use my shifters, this is just as easy, if not easier. The only time it becomes somewhat difficult is if you are backing into a well where the distance from tip to stern is smaller than what your boat can pivot, and you have to keep an eye in front and behind to not hit anything.
