Turn 55 today
Father time running me out. When i was 30 I didn't listen ! Older humans would tell me 55 will hit you faster than you think. It's here!
Marbles in my head rolling around wondering if I will make it to 75 :evilb: Still have that trip from Miami to Key West on my bucket list! I miss the old days of OSO , it was the future back then , the internet .... Past 20+ years ,All the laughs I have had on here , all the great photographers, the help, information ,questions answered , trading ,buying parts , helping others out. It's been great. Thank you all. ! |
My great grandfather, on his 100th birthday shared some wisdom with me. Have jack daniels and eggs every morning, and you are only as old as the woman you sleep with. :)
btw: Happy Birthday ! 55 ain’t old. Get that out if your head. :) |
55? Damn your old lol. I hit 60 last month and yeah it goes so fast. I remember turning 40 like it was just yesterday. I will say we've been very fortunate and have been able to do runs all over the eastern half of the country but my bucketlist includes the 1000 islands run and the Bahamas run with Stu.
Btw Happy Birthday |
You guys are youngsters, I’m 67, that’s when you really start looking back. Been working part time for the last year. Hopefully quitting my job in April and taking the whole summer off, May to October. Living in the Jersey shore has great summer activities, and I’m taking advantage of all it this summer. Boating, beaches, in laws swimming pool, happy hour and driving my new to me Mustang GT convertible around. Gotta do it now before you’re too old to do it at all
|
Happy Birthday open87 ! You have many good years in front of you. Tomorrow I turn 76. Enjoying life and have Jason and Johnny Saris building a 540 for me.

Happy Birthday Open!
Crazy how fast the decades disappear. I’ve spent 20 years on here yet it only feels like a few months. saw something the other day that no matter what, you will look back in 10 years and think these were the good old days! Enjoy man! |
Man - I’m only 44. Most of you guys are a fair bit older. I’m worried in 10 years I’ll be the only one here (and maybe Sydwayz). God, the prospect of me and Bryan just going back and forth about towing capacities is dismal!! Haha
|
Happy Birthday! 63 here, goes fast.

70 this year. Why do I still feel as if I'm 25?
Will I ever grow up? Happy Birthday! |

67 as of Jan 12.😳 Think like 25 but it doesn’t help, still get around like 67. |
61 here, as someone once said "if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself". no one gets out alive so might as well enjoy the ride. my dad still goes out in his 32' Donzi and drives a California Special Mustang at 89 so life does not end at 55 or 60, sometimes it begins.
|
60,
Don’t feel like it or whatever 60 is supposed to feel like. Broke a bone for the first time in my life a couple weeks ago, maybe I should act at least like a 40 year old! Lol oh well might as well have fun. |
A friend of mine and I were talking the other day and can remember wishing we were older as kids. The "play window" of being old enough to afford it, young & healthy enough to enjoy it, and free time to do it, is VERY small. Take advantage and do everything you can when you can. We are all very blessed to be part of the boating community and all of the activity choices it provides.

Happy bday!! 33 here and have plans of keeping the big power big blocks and this site alive for a long time! Learn a ton from everyone on here
|
Growing up, my friends were having kids around 30 and doing family things while I was stuck in ‘party mode’. I kept on partying for a long time before settling down. Now 60, have a much younger wife and one daughter who is 7.
I now know how my friends felt in their 30’s, it’s pretty good. :) Happy Birthday to everyone who’s having a birthday this year! RR |

I'm 57 and it seems crazy to have been on OSO for 25 years.
My head thinks I'm still 32 or even 40 a lot of the time and then the next morning my body reminds me that I'm not:lolhit: |
Happy birthday! 67 here, been on here just about 25 years! Time sure does fly by.
|
|
Happy Birthday!!
56 here. Fortunately I can do more than most 25 year olds. Maybe that's not saying much now? Hopefully be retired in a couple of years and really start enjoying myself? |
Well...today I am 76. Back from a good work out at the gym. As the oldest, so far, my advise is...keep moving and keep running fast, loud boats!

Remember, growing old is unavoidable, growing up is optional.
|
Good job. We still need something to make noise at Boyne Thunder. The parade lap is a little wimpy sounding. I gave in and went to outboards. I have to admit I enjoy working on them standing up, along with the fuel economy. I really miss the old Baja. You would warn someone on the dock you were starting up, then they would jump anyway once it fired up.

Man, get out and DO those things on your bucket list!!!!
I'm 53 and through covid I went through a divorce and nearly lost my business. Made me realize those bucket list items just get harder as you get older and waiting become "never". I live/boat in VA however I finally ran my boat down to the Keys this winter. Flew home last night after spending 3 days on the boat in Islamorada (where it's docked)! Been going every couple weeks all winter before I bring it home this spring. Happy B-day! |

Been going every couple weeks all winter before I bring it home this spring. Happy B-day! Yup. It was always our intention to SOMEDAY own a boat. My wife loved boating, and I grew up in it. There was never any argument over "IF". But it was just never "the right time"; we never seemed to be "ready". Then my wife's dad got sick, and it looked like he was not going to make it (he didn't), a good bit before hitting 60, she realized that life is unpredictable, and it can be much shorter than we realize it's gonna be. One afternoon, kinda out of the blue, she let it slip she'd been looking at used boats. We had our Rinker within two weeks. We named it "All Papaw's Fault". She's never regretted it. Fortunately, we got to do some boating in OUR boat with both our dads before we lost them both in the same year, 2013. Do the things. Do them now. Tomorrow may have other plans for you. Thanks. Brad. |
I’m 68yo and retired in the Keys. I’m currently cruising these beautiful waters down here in my OB Checkmate but do miss my Sonics of past days when I head to the ocean side down here and realize the advantages of a true offshore hull.:D

It’s a balmy 68* here today. BTW, there has never been a frost warning in the lower Keys. :evilb:

I'm 50, and I'm not celebrating any more birthdays, especially next month.
|
60 here. Seems like yesterday I was 40 down in South Beach for my first Miami Boat Show getting a ride in a 382 Formula with the test mule 600's that had not yet been released by Merc. Where does the time go?
|
52...raising 2 kids in sports made 20 years go by in a blink of an eye! We were so busy running to practices and traveling to tournaments that it just flew by. They're now 21 & 23 and youngest will graduate from Mizzou in May; so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. I wouldn't change a thing though...luckily we have our health and are able to travel quite a bit. Looking to start wintering South in the next couple of years hopefully.
