For the third time in about 10 years, we went to the Miami Boat Show today. It was really kind of disappointing. There were very few performance boats inside the convention center and just a couple on the water. It seems to me that he Ft Lauderdale show in the fall is the one to go to.

Took the family. For the first time last year and kind of felt the same way. It's a great excuse to get out of the cold north for a week but the show definitely isn't as preformance orientated as it sounds like it was 15-20 years ago. Iv never unstood how the economics of a show that size work for manufacturers. Your paying xxx amount of dollars and hoping a joe smoe walks in and decideds to order a new million $ boat? I think the new style of semi "private" events will be the way to go. Manufacturers will be able to keep the cost down. And won't be wasting time with 1000's of non customers at a traditional show.
