If you hit the water with enough impact to rip off an inflatable you`re toast either way, the only thing a lifeline will do better is float your body.

Not to beat a dead horse but we have ones that have straps that go between your legs and snap into the vest.

I would think that would help some.

I went over in 2006 in my Skater 30, both Rik and I had Mustang Survival auto-inflate vests on and we're both still here. My same Skater 30 went over in 2021, both the driver and passenger had no life jackets on and only the driver is still here with us (RIP Nancy). I think this is all that needs to be said, the choice is yours everybody.

And if you truly want to be as safe as possible in an open cockpit boat at 150+, this is what you should be wearing - but I don't think anybody (including me) wants to go to these extremes while out in our pleasure/performance boats. If you go over at those speeds, odds are that nobody is going to survive anyways.
