Derailed still?

Yeah a car car can read an unmoving/changing road 10’ ahead of it.
Yay.

At WFO in a boat we are reading/processing moving/changing water 50 to a 100 yds in front of us @ a buck plus????

Sorry but the best technology for that is still between our ears.

Process what we see, set the boat up for it and when we get there it’s changed.

I knew that you’re a jack of all trades, but did not know that you are a expert in image recognition, too.

It would be helpful if you could share with us a perspective of the current state of the art.

I am sure it's possible, we have or could come up with the technology to do it. Heck we can land a tube dropping from space unto a barge bouncing around in the ocean.

The cost of development and ROI is what the issue is.

Would like to add the shootout at DS has been called off (or postponed until a wind free run could be made) for a lot less wind the times I have been there.

I think DD was running negative trim and the bow lifted after they let off and lost the downforce!

FAA will require a pilot's license for a 390X .
All around more casualties and much higher insurance rates would be my guess.

I am not going to call myself an expert but I have raced outboard cats in offshore, I have owned 15+ outboard cats ranging from 19ft to 42ft, and I currently have 6 of them. That being said, I have the MoTec and Kong add-ons on my 36 Wright Performance. The boat will run 140 at will and the acceleration is absolutely impressive for an outboard. The best comparison I can offer is like driving a 24 Skater with 280s but on steroids- "if you don't have your s*** together, it will bite you". I see all of the liquid courage that is consumed on the fun runs, poker runs, and at various spots on the lake. At this point, it is totally our opportunity to ruin. I truly pray that guys use their heads and wear lifelines in these lightweight boats that are going to be capable of 150 to 160 mph-believe me, (we are there with built up internals and increased RPM capability). This a double edged knife and it is night and day compared to stock 500s so please use your head and have a plan before you attempt to just lay the sticks on the dash. All of this stuff is only fun if you can continue to do it again.

I wonder how that setup would feel propped down to go about 120. It would still be a lot to handle though. But the acceleration would be something.
