The Doug Wright 39 and 36 does 140+ with box stock 500r’s. The victory 36 did 140+ with box stock 450r’s.

The Performance Powerboats P420 does 135 with box stock 500r’s which isn’t 140+ but worth mentioning because it’s a huge boat you don’t realize unless you have been in one or around one up close. Very impressive and proves the smaller boats to do 140+.

But as Dale said these numbers aren’t happening with remotely rough water. Not even close. But at the same time the OB stuff is much more reliable no matter what the few want to argue, and Mercury offering 8 year warranties on them proves that or they would offer it, there is no I/O available with anywhere near that warranty.

The 36, 39, and 42 are faster then the 32 with equal power in pretty much every condition on top end (32s have proven to be scary with 450s and 500s but they accelerate hard). PBC has their 36 ticking 140 and their 42 at 135 out of the box. Justin has had his 39 running the same on stock 500s. The 42' is a big boat and has the capability of running rough "LOTO conditions" at speed, I have a good friend with one and even though my 36 was a good bit faster in smooth conditions, we rarely get in front of him on our runs together. There are going to be a bunch of guys able to turn their motors hard and have them live this year. Things are going to be much faster at LOTO and around the country in 2026. Head gaskets and head bolts claimed a lot power heads last year when people were playing next to each other for 30+ miles at a time. The stock internals don't live long when they are turned over 6800 for extended periods, now we have good internal parts readily available which have been proven at 250 hp per cylinder in several automotive applications (drag and desert), CNC head porting that is good for another 45 CFM on the flow bench, and much more experience with tuning. There will be guys running smaller wheels and going for the 9K rpm area. This as I have stated many times is a double edged sword (its only fun if you can come back and do it again). Please use your head and wear jackets if you are getting into a light weight high powered boat, the numbers now capable are uncharted territory.

Joe

That thing is going to be awesome! I would have gone with the new DWR427 variant, but it’s not my boat.
