I must have slept through this class...because I am totally confused. What does the power steering have to do with anything? The way the post is worded, it comes across as needing to find a way to run the WATER pump to, you know, cool the engine.
What am I missing???

I want to run the engine on this stand before I install in the boat to make sure all is good.

I have sea pump belt off in pic but is back on now.

I dont want to run power steering pump because its not hooked to anything on high psi side and will leak everywhere.

I need the motor's water pump (on the block in front of timing chain) to run to circulate the water thru the block but cant do that because its on the same pulley as the power steering.

So Im trying to figure out how to do so or if Im missing something really obvious.

Nope. No back pressure needed. Just let the pump do its thing and let the fluid circulate.

If it were as easy as dropping a belt, that would be the obvious choice. But you can't, so the next best option is to just connect the two hoses.

This pic your high psi line ? If so, then it’s a flare fitting you can just slide back the nut and probably just slide over your return rubber hose and clamp. If not same size you have options to make things fit/connect.
And no, no back psi needed. Connect high to return.
