cockpit cover or boat cover, which do you use and why?

I have an 87 Force 280 with the arch. Looked for a long time to find an aftermarket cover last year. Had no luck. Went to a couple local shops and received bids. Finally found one for $900. It fits great and looks great. I had it made to go completely over the arch. Now need for poles and it's tight.
The problem I had with the cockpit cover was it leaked where the arch went through it.
