OUTERLIMITS (what's in a name???)
I figured why not start another thread like this...
I am curious as to the thoughts of those that own and / or have ridden on these beautiful machines. Also, where you guys think this company is going, your thoughts on their product, pricing, and experiences... etc... etc... BTW, don't forget to post some pics. of these badboys!!!!!! REGARDS:cool: |
Rock it had to start the phenominim running. Nothing like Freddy hangin on for dear life under those brdges on the Hudson at over 100
|
They Build a great boat, no one will ever deny that. I hope they stay in Racing, it was fun watching Paul chase down the PX boats in Key West. Let me see if I can dig up a few PICS from the Poker Runs.
|
I have been looking to buy one for a while now, had 2 deals fall thru. Had a chance to met Paul at the Maimi show what a great guy he spent over a hour with us explianing any and all questions, can't wait to make a deal on one. Nothing else compares!!

Heard the GTX is going to be made in a 37.

That one at the show last year was sick. With 900sc's and "not dialed in" they did 119.

This bad boy carried Waterspeed & myself to many a checkered flag in BIG water. Biggest being 8-10s. We lapped a few other manufacturers boats in the big stuff.
I can't say one bad word about Outerlimits, Mike, Paul or anyone at OL! |
one day soon........
Our plans are to get an Outerlimits very soon! The boats are top notch quality! One great thing is you can go with big power and # 6's with the 37 ft Outerlimits. The 38 Top Gun will not accept #6's with big power. I think there's a new KING of V-Bottoms - BH
|
If i had the money It would be a OL. Outerlimits rock!
pwrboattours cigs can 't handle # 6's and big power
Is that really true 38 t.g. won't handle #6's and big power??????? I'am in trouble getting ready to install #6's and twin 1050 hp [/B
pwrboatours cigs can 't handle # 6's and big power |
PWRTours, I believe you have been misinformed. The 38 Takes big power in stepped versions aswell as in Straight Bottom VERY well. The 42 Stepped was the boat that had the nasty problem with #6s and big power. But they've since fixed that with the 42 XP.

I saw the 50 OL on display at the Lauderdale boat show. I was disappointed to see every bulkhead had a visible ghost down the side. For $987K I would have made them make me another one. They also had the snootiest sales staff at the entire show. I was treated MUCH better looking at 3 million dollar Sunseekers. Just my .02, I'm sure many will disagreee.

Damn Cash .... you almost sound like Spam
After all, this is an Outerlimits thread. G |
To each his own, but I'm partial to OL

Not my favorite pic...But I did watch her sink
Believe it was a 99 and "four of a Kind"...34 feet to the bed below... |
That's going to leave a stain!! Bummer
|
just what I was told........
I was told no room for the transmissions , etc and it does not work well w/ the TS. Not an expert on this subject and didn't mean to offend anyone with the set up . Still gonna get an OL - BH
|
JB, was that the boat that sank at Harbor Mess a couple years back?
|
This shot comes from Ocean City MD in 1995. We raced against Obsession all year and we usually stayed side by side like this photo. This race we won at an average speed of 77.12mph in 4 to 6 foot seas. I believe this was the very first OL race boat, and it kicked ass, but not ours. :D
http://www.homestead.com/njoffshore/files/OC_MD_95.jpg This is the very first 42 built. Pete had a 32 Hustler, then a 37 OL and now this rocket with 800sc all named No Discipline. This photo is at the Pits of the May 2000 Point Pleasant race. The boat was in the water for 10 hours and it served as our pace boat for the day. http://www.homestead.com/njoffshore/files/pace1.jpg I'd buy one of these boats in a second. |
What became of the WildChild boat? Haven't heard anything of it in a while.
|
|
It was redone for a poker run boat in chesterfield twp.MI the boat came out great and now is for sale at National Marine.
Good luck getting hold of them, they seam a little busy to return calls and massages. Either that or I don't have enough money to talk to them! |

Mike Fiore used to race in Obsession and always admired the ventalated step in Mr Technology. You'll now find the ventalated steps on all quad step 42. I'm not sure if he ever did it to the 37.
By ventalated, I mean an external air supply is vented to the rear of the step via a bunch of 3/4" holes drilled into the rear of the step. This helps to break the vacuum created by the step. Mr T had 4" holes at the waterline on the sides to bring in the air, while OL uses Nacta sp? ducts on the deck. Why more builders don't use this I can understand, its worth a few extra MPH. I've been on No Discipline a few times now and it always amazes me how the back end keeps lifting with speed, just like a cat. At WOT, a little down trim makes it bite harder and surge forward. Like no other V bottom I've ever been in. On race day, leading the fleet on a pace lap in this boat plowing over 8 to 10" waves was an amazing exerience. Ask DJD, he raced in it. |
goforbroke...Chris, YES

Gotta love those OL's. What an excellent ride. I have been in a few 37's and one 42 with 1000's. Gotta give them both a thumbs up!!!
|
OL has some of the highest quality paint work of anyone in the industry, especially coming right from the factory!
