A little advice compiled by friends who are attorneys and deputies.
1. Don't drive drunk.
If you do:
1. If you notice a cop following close behind you, drop a little below the speed limit. If he does not pass, he is probably observing you. Pull over before he puts on his lights. This works in your defense because he had no probable cause to make the stop.
2. Do not say anything and whatever you do, Do not blow! Simply ask if you have done anything wrong. Then ask if you are under arrest. Inform the officer that you will cooperate fully after you are able to speak with your attorney. Most likely you cannot get ahold of your atty at 3am on a Sunday.

If you have been drinking and are in an accident hopefully you are close to a store. Run and get something with alcohol in it and drink it in front of witnesses possibly in front of the first officer to arrive at the scene. Let him know you needed something to calm your nerves.
