Back when we were racing, it was nice to have a good pair of athletic shoes on while running the boat hard. It was wierd at first, but now when I know we'll be going on a long run or if its really rough, I'll put my shoes back on.
True be told though, I'd rather everyone else leave their's off. Because they always forget and step on a seat.

I myself dont mind white DECK shoes.No hard soles, I have carpet and when dockside or or rafted I have towels on the seats and across the vineal on the hatches. I try to get to the docks at the poker runs first so I can tie up next to the dock, then I dont have to go across any ones boat.. By the way, I have a five year old cat and try and find a scratch on the jelcoat or a smuge on the vineal ! Then I do polish a lot plus maybe I have a lot of considerate boaters that cross my boat or ride in it!! I bought my boat for enjoyment not rules. I also have a few nice cars and you dont have to take your shoes off to ride in them either! Sorry, just my feelings..

No Shoes, rock and other stuff get caught in the soles and then scratch the boat when they step on, even boat shoes....I tell my guest shoes or underware your choice(ladies only of course) Guys no shoes period...

The only person allowed to wear shoes on our boat is my 76 year old mother. We use 2 boarding mats for her and she hops right in! She does pretty well for her age. Everyone else...no shoes, ever.
