Shoes
Stickers on top of the gunnels, "Naked Feet Only" Been there since day one.
|
Only if they are 4" spkie high heels and she is wearing little else.
|
Don't even think about coming on my boat with shoes!
:D AC |
Wear the shoes. If someone falls off my boat because of a wet deck I don't want to feel guilty because i told them not to wear shoes.
Vinyl and paint are cheap. I'm not paying no doctor bills. As long as they are boat shoes or non maring gym shoes Mark |
It would be rude to board another boat while wearing shoes, so I ASK my guests to remove their shoes. I store them out of sight. This assures that everyone in my boat is barefoot at the "raft-up".
It's just a nice way to "keep the peace" at party cove. |
SHOELESS
|
Never really understood the no shoes rules. Other than the gel coat and the paint on the trailor, everything else can be fixed. The vinyl isn’t that delicate, is it? As far as cleaning, usually detail the boat at the end of the weekend anyways.
Just a rookies two cents. |
I second reckless288. Deck shoes or nothing.

no shoes of any kind any where.
i hate it at poker runs when the girls try to walk across the back of the boat ,i had one wearing hard black chunkie sole shoes went across . WHAT A STUPID *****.when i let loose on her she did not understand.prob should have help her in the water instead.would you let me walk on your cars paint or furniture with my shoes on. how about the deck shoes that have tread in them that can trap those little rocks and walk around on your deck that has the coustom paint job that fades into diffrent colors that has to be repainted not touched up. |
Shoes sometimes
For me it depends on what type of shoe they have on and are they clean on the bottom. If they are flat and don't have anything sticking to them just wipe them off on an old towel but look to make sure. Sometimes peoples bare feet can become dirty and get little pieces of gravel stuck to the bottom in only a few steps so the bare feet can also make a mess. It all depends on where you are docked. Some places I have been I wouldn't even want to think about taking off my shoes because it has been so nasty. Other times the area is so damn hot you can't stand to be bare footed not to mention splinters and nails ect. I just put down a few extra towels to walk on and make sure they are clean. Either way as long as they are clean. Cordell |
High Heels, but only on the V-berth!!! :D :D
|
No Shoes / No Smoking/ No Glass containers,
Three easy rules, if you can't figure them out you don't belong on my boat anyway.:D WILL:p |
Clean Deck shoes or Soft sole shoes are allowed. I would never allow anyone on my deck without shoes. It's way too slippery otherwise. I am also very particular who I let on the deck. My rear seat has been covered with a beach towel since day one. The only time I have had shoes on the engine hatch has been at Poker Runs. I keep towels or rugs to keep it covered. Side by side uses a canvas cover over the engine hatch for Poker runs. Maybe he could post a picture.
I always ask others what they prefer before I board there boats. I find it's the guest you need to worry about and not other boat owners. Dan |
Great point about the deck candyman. The deck on my boat has been waxed so many times you need suction cups to stand up on it.
I like the rug idea for poker runs:eureka: |
I don't allow them in my house and, well I think you can figure out the rest!
Enough Said! |
h2owarrior,
You need to see a picture of Side by Sides boat with the snapped on canvas cover. It covers the complete engine hatch. It is the perfect solution for Poker runs. I think I would add some footprints that said step here to help guide people across. You could reinforce those areas also. Dan |

Great idea!
|
How rude! People should have enough respect to walk on your swim platform, not your hatch!
|
This is great, I can use this as clinical proof of how careful my passengers should really be.
Actually my boat is carpeted, but take GREAT care in stepping in and out. Shoes don't just go anywhere! |
I wear VANS
|
Yes to shoes, But deck or white sole sneakers only. I have shoes that I only use for the boat.
I have slipped way too many times on the bow when docking the boat when there's water on it. And, unless it is carpeted, it is hard to get me footing in snotty conditions. |
About this time 2 yrs ago I was taking thr Popeye Fountain race boat back to Ohio after we had painted it here in Canada, I went into customs at the Peace Bridge and they said they wanted to look inside the boat ( this boat was completly de-rigged even the canopy windshield was gone ) it was also snowing, and as this customs woman walk across the parking lot to the boat I suggested that if she was going to walk on the freshly painted deck she should take off her salt and grit covered boots, to which she told me nobody tells her what to do and made me park it in the customs building, made me sit there for 4hrs finally told me to go, they never did look in the boat................

Our Offshore club LEOPA has a no shoe policy, makes it nice when you are around them never have to worry about boat abuse. They also ask for diapered fenders when rafting off someone else.
|
NO SHOES,
RESPECT IT OR DONT GET ON,BECAUSE EVEN WITH BOAT SHOES LITTLE PEBBLES GET STUCK AND CAUSE SCRATCHES. |
I have a "Go For Broke" door mat I keep on the dock next to the boat. Thats where I expect shoes removed or bare feet cleaned. I already spend more time cleaning than I do driving!!
|
No shoes when out rafting, or relaxing. I have a Sonic, with the walk around, and actually prefer to wear shoes. The walk around will not get damaged by any soft soled shoes. I usually buy one or two pairs of all white tennis shoes, that lasts me all season. I like the extra shock absorbsion when driving, especially since I am tall, and tend to move my feet forward a bit to get a bit lower. Everyone, even the women must have some type of decent shoe better than flip flops when boating with me, as most of the docks in this area are in fair to poor shape due to climate. Lots of nails and splinters are sticking up.
If you are crossing my boat, in a raft up, or whatever, you may wear soft sole shoes around the walk around and swim platform. |
no shoes

Guys no...Girls....Depends on how Hot they are.

Hello...Boat shoes are for ...boats.
Do you own the boat or does the boat own you? If your that anal about your boat keep it inside,on shore. You can still wip out a photo of it when others are enjoying there rides. If you are worried about the cost of your ride than you can't afford to own it. A friend of mine has a VERY NICE Formula but no one wants to ride with that mother hen. No shoes ,watch your beer ,don't put finger prints on that. The only thing hes good for is to open up your coke bottle if he bends over. Life is short ,lossen up a little, you might like it. DON"T BE SCARED... Remember it's only a boat, ENJOY IT! |
shoe protocal
As told to me by a long time yacht builder in Holland, the protocol is to remove your shoes at the dock before tracking all that nasty stuff, fuel residue, sea gull residue etc onto the hull of the boat. when entering the salon socks are requested to eliminate the oils and "residue of your feet" from messing up the sole or carpets. When underway if you arent wearing shoes its a little crazy. :fish: :fish: saltwater, fish guts and tanning oil make a great diving board mixture:fish: :fish:
|
NO SHOES , NO SHIRT , NO SKIRT , LOTS OF FLIRT !
|
Any shoe that hits the ground can carry gelcoat scratchers...No shoes! No smokes!
|
as you step on boat sign reads:
naked feet required naked bodies expected |
NO Shoes!!
I hate when people, usually non-boaters run across my freshly waxed deck and leave all kinds of black marks to help teh next guy rafting up!!! AND...last year a girl wearing high heels jumped from there cruiser onto my sunpad and punctured the vinyl. ......NO SHOES or if your going to wear shoes HAVE RESPECT and walk on the towels I lay out for people to step on!!!! |
Shoes for hard running only. Never on the vinyal.
|
wear shoes-no ride......no shoes lots of rides....
|
Originally posted by Waterfoul I have a carpeted floor. I also have bad feet. I wear shoes. I also bring mine with me when I boat with others and ASK if I may wear them (they are always non-making kinds of shoes). I respect the boats of my friends more than my own. I allow shoes if people respect mine. On the carpet only. NEVER on the vinyl. Never on the deck, though I have on the off occasion that timing does not allow me to take them off...hitting a piling or dock for instance. Therefor, I didn't vote. |
Originally posted by Fever Mike Other rules are: no smoking no eat or drink while underway no kids under 14 years old no one over 65 years old due to the nature of the boat Do not ask me if you can drive. If you get to drive I must really, really know and like ya! Sorry I took the porta-poty out! Hop in the water! You ride you wash. Mike |
It's just a boat!
I had a .38 Special a few years back. It was in perfect condition. I kept it inside a boat house on a lift. I was always worried about scratching it, or getting it dirty. Bought a hydrohoist, kept it waxed, yelled at the kids when they tracked sand in it etc. Stressed if someone opened a bag of chips. Had a cover made so it wouldn't get "dusty" in the house. Spent two hours cleaning the POS for every hour I used it. Too much work to keep a boat in that kind of shape unless you just want to park it and stare at it. Finally got rid of it. It's just a boat! Now I got a 42' Harley. It is older, buts it's made to use. Lots of non skid. Not alot of uplostery. Just give it a good hose and scrub once in a while, and thats it. Much better. My kids have more fun, I have more fun, because I know I won't be coming back to the boat house the next day for a two hour clean session. I know several peaple that are totally anal about their boats. I call them boat slaves. The boat is their master. They will do anything for their master. Guys, just remember: It's just a boat! |
