Verizon is the best throughout the northeast. My buddy has their two way feature and loves it!

Nextel

I travel quite a bit and never have problems. I also have the nationwide direct connect and nationwide free long distance. I use the 2-way all over the country and it works great.

We switched from AT&T to Nextel 2 months ago. The pricing for Nextel was by far the best for my situation. 37 Phones Salesmen/Managers/Drivers. The pricing worked for us because they have a Team share deal that includes 400min/cell & 250min radio for $39.99 and add on phones at $15 with 250min radio. My drivers only use the radio for the most part so my managers/salesmen draw off their minutes. When it all averaged out we are paying about $26 a phone.
Disadvantages to Nextel
Big phones
Battery life
Customer service unless you can elevate your problem to the second tear nextel customer care. (although they all suck)
Radio coverage does not directly match cell service.
Lots of dead areas in rural areas, major city and highway are pretty good.
Managers who travel alot are having some problems with coverage.
If you have a lot of phones and the radio feture works for you check out Nextel for the pricing if not I would look at Verison.

there are other things comming down the road that will...

the other cellular carriers are bringing out their own "push to talk" services... the major difference? They are going to make them interconnectable. So if you have a sprint PTT service, you will be able to "two way" to a verizon, cingular, whoever customer... but NOT to nextel, and nextel will not be able to connect to the other carriers...This is due to the way the technology they chose works. The other carriers are making it work over their data networks and not their primary voice networks. I will like to see what happens to nextel when this goes into full effect....
