The BBQ bologna is too die for. When I first moved here to Kansas I went to a local BBQ place here in Topeka and asked for BBQ bologna and they laughed in my face.
Sorry Tanned Fat, my vote is for the great state of Oklahoma!

Sorry to pop your bubble.........
.......But. The Dinosaur Bar-B-Que beats any place.
YES!!! Anyplace. Who would have thought upstate NY would be the home of the original Honkey Tonk BBQ??
They've gone big time now. Even have their own home page. You now can buy their Bar-B-Que suace and other HOT sauces online. www.dinosaurbarbque.com
The best homemade BBQ meal you'll ever have!!

McDonald's McRib Sandwich
Sorry Too Old
True BBQ is about the prep not the sauce. And the best I've had is off the smoker in my backyard. 10 or 12 hours of slow cooking pork shoulders. Start with a good dry rub and mop throughout the day. hand pull served on a bun with Slaw and a drizzle of Carolina sauce. Now I'm hungry.

I have to vote for the Dinosaur Bar-b-que in Syracuse, NY. It has become a landmark in our area. Haven't tried it in KC, but have in Texas, NC, SC, GA and many others ... but still prefer the Dinosaur. If you're ever travelin through, you won't regret the stop. Here's their website:

Best I've had was either off of my pit in the back yard or at one of the comps I've attended.. Something about the comercial que just don't taste right...I still think it is the combo of gas and all hickory... Takes just the right blend of hickory and oak to get a good smoke flavor without overpowering the meat flavor. And if you have to drown the meat in sauce something is not right!!
OH and I have not been to a comercial place where you can sit around the cooker for 13hours and drink you favorite beverage and tend the fire!!
