Lisa, as soon as you can, please give Mike a hug. He is in my thoughts. Mike graciously allowed the American Outboard Federation and myself to "sponsor" him one year he raced. All I sent him was some shirts, stickers, and small things. He made me feel as important as if I had sent tv sponsorship. Praying for him now is the least I can do for someone who brought me that much joy. Get better soon Mike. The kneel down boat racers might need you to drive for us again real soon.

Yes, Mike J, I talked to Mike C.
He is in good spirits and sounded really good. I was really surprised with how much he went through.

UPDATE:

I spent 3 or 4 hours today with Mike. He is doing very well and should be moving to a private room tomorrow. He has several more surgeries this coming week. Both he and Lisa seem to be in very good spirits and are looking forward to Mike being able to return home. He has the OSO bear perched up in the window next to his bedside. Mike told me today that he is going to sell his Harley which means I am going to sell mine also. If anybody wants a 2001 HD EFI Road King (Blue/Silver or Black) let me know. We have two available. Both are decked out with lots of goodies.

That's great news Big Mike, keep us posted. I gave up riding some time ago for same reason too many close calls and too many friends getting hurt. You're much safer on a track!

Any news on Mike? heres hoping things are coming along. I sent a card on behalf of the Fountain Fourm members but I addressed it to ICU, then a day after I sent it we learned he was going to a regular room, We hope he got it........Doug :)

UPDATE:

Mike is doing better day by day. He is very anxious to get out of the hospital and get home. They will move him in a day or two to a rehab hospital. After that, he should be home in no time. I snuck his dog Buddy into the hospital last night for an hour or two. I think that made his week. It was good to see him smile. Almost got busted when one of his nurses burst into the room unannounced. My wife Lisa had to duck into the bathroom with the Budman and hope like hell he didn't bark or something. That would have been ugly. Mikes wife Lisa got the Miss Congeniality award at the hospital yesterday for being the most supporting spouse in the entire facility. Nobody was suprised. If she hadn't had won she would have probably torn open a can of whoop ass and went home with the prize anyways. Mike needs to move to a bigger room to house all of the flower arrangements. It looks like a florist in there. Anyways, that about does it for this update. Stay tuned for more.

All right! That's great news! :)

Mike was transfered to another hospital in the area to get a little rehab. The new place is close to Tampa General on Davis Island. They are working on getting him back in shape. I think he will be there for a few weeks. He should then be able to return home. Getting out of St. Josephs was a major league step in the right direction. He still has alot of healing to do but it looks like the major stuff is behind him.

I haven't seen any info as to what has, or will be happening to the idiot that caused this whole bad situation for Mike. Is he in the greybar, or anything? I hope he's not still on the road..
