US1 Fountain,

Not that I can understand why anyone would want to go there, but you may try comming down I 65 to Elizabethtown, take the second Elizabethtown exit & go straight at traffic light. This puts you on the Lincoln Pky. to Hodgenville. At the end of the Pky. turn right on Hwy 210 and go to Campbellsville. Straight thru Campbellsville, road then becomes Hwy. 55. Stay on 55 thru Columbia until it intersects with Hwy. 127. If you go to Stae Dock you will know where you are at that point. It is approx. 88 miles from Elizabethtown to the dam for a reference point for you. Also much closer and faster than I - 65 the the Cumberland Pky. Appears to be a straighter shot for you than the way you come.

Mark

Those are excellent pics. TBikini and I were there when the lake hit its highest level on record. We thought it was 1994 not 1995 ?.......We launched off of the road leading into Burnside Marina. Besides Connoly Bottom, that was the only place you could launch. We have pictures of Jamestown from the lake........the boat was level with the hotel

Looks like we may have another year with trashy (logs, etc.) boating until July

I'll attach some pictres of Jamestown and Seventy Six Falls.

Thanks for the info. I don't mind the drive itself. The problem is I usually work 1/2 day on Saturday. That puts me down there at about 4-5 on Saturday afternoon. Makes for a really short w/e...

I'll still come down quite a bit and haven't ruled out moving my boat down there.

Wild Willy, I thinky you know what I am trying to say We have been going to the lake for almost 30 years. It is by far the best boating lake we have ever been on. Its deep, clear and long.....great for high performance boating. And we have been all over this great country with our boat.

What I do not like is the fact that many other peole are beginning to discover what we found many years ago. And it can get crazy....mainly on holiday weekends......with people who do not respect the lake, boating or safety while boating. This can make it difficult to enjoy the wonderful play ground the TVA produced for us boaters so many years ago.

That is why I say such negative things about the lake. It's a great place that I would like to stay that way

Wild Willy.......Are you serious about this log chopper thing ??????????
