I'm going for it on 3/22 in KY... I would think about this w/e but I will be in New Orleans cheering on our beloved CATS !!

If I get the water (circulating) pump replaced this Friday I may just toss it in Saturday.
Usually the first weekend in April is the start of our season.

Last year, March 16th. This year, probably the first weekend in April. They're calling for some lows in the teens later this week. Once March arrives, I look at the 10 day forcast. As soon as I don't see any sub freezing temps it's time!

My cruiser's been in all winter. Almost started it on saturday (65 degrees). Glad I didnt this morning (20 degrees).
I'll be opened up and running in 2 weeks on the Lake. See you down there.

Last year we were in the Potomac River in mid March. Last weekend was tempting but a few degrees short at 60. We all know how cold 60 degrees is at 50mph. Then there's the cold 25 degree nights, which would mean antifreeze and..........

Anyone else counting days?

I put in LOTO at around March 15-19. Didn't see another go-fast on the water though. Stilll saw some cruisers to hop around off of. Was WAY too cold for longer rides, but I couldn't help myself. The temp. didn't drop low enough after that though!

if it gets below freezing after saturday ill just sleep in the engine compartment so my body heat keeps her from freezing:crazy:

Can't be soon enough!! Depending on the temps, maybe Mar 22...if we can get rid of the mound of snow infront of the trailer!

Last March, after I was done that week, my marina was nice enough to keep an eye on temps w/ more than one day below freezing they would put my boat inside their heated shop. They never needed to, but it sure was comforting.

Are you going to LOTO? I may spend sometime down there this spring break. If so tell me what days and I could meet you somewhere to see that nice new water whip of yours :)

Tried to go last Saturday, got to the lake, ICE. Didn't expect that, went last year around the same time, no problems.

It's been pretty darn cold this winter, I am going to wait until the end of march at the soonest. They are still talking about lows in the high 20's this week. I think spring is going to be slow in the mid west this year.

Was at LOTO on Saturday 3/8/02 nice day kind of windy though. Saw a lot of bass boats, and saw a 36 Outlaw on the lake late in the day (I think it was a dealer on a test drive), otherwise not many boats out. It was tempting to drop her in Saturday, but Sunday weather reinforced the fact that the old man winter is still calling the shots. I am waiting until the last weekend in March or the 1st weekend in April. I think old man winter is still teasing us.

Last year was the earliest I`ve ever been in the water. Taken April fools day:D

It will be a couple of months before we will get the boat in this year:( Taken this morning -2 degrees:eek:

Same deal over here. We've got about 20" of ice to get rid of first, and then a few weeks after ice-out for all the debris to settle down. And then of course dock repairs from ice damage :mad:

Loto- let me know if you do decide to drop it in longview, I may have to run out and take a gander at the new toy. If you do splash, you could got to a farm supply store and get a heat lamp and set it up on a timer in the engine compartment and have it kick on at say 9pm every night to keep the engine above freezin..

Loto,You and I are in the same boat (so to speak), I haven't had my new toy in the water yet, either. It's suppsed to be in the upper 60's here this weekend. If things go well, I may get it wet Sunday. If nothing else, just to hear the noise!!!! Can hardly wait..... :D

I'm headin' out 3/17 for a cold ride around the upper Chesapeake Bay on a 45 Excalibur. Actually looking forward to it as long as the ice has melted:D
