I took the Power Squadron course back in 1967.
I will retake it this fall and take the wife too. I'd do it sooner but the wife still has college classes to finish.

I also took the Power Squadron's 8-week course in early '98 after I bought my first boat (24' Baja). Excellent course. Only missed one question that had to do with identifying blow-boats. Who cares what type it is, all I need to know is that they have the right of way under sail.

Recommend everyone take one - whether it's the one day, 8 week or on-line course.

I am taking it this year. A fellow OSO member will be the instructor. I think it is VERY important to take this class.

I did the same as you. Took it the first time in '85 and took it again with my wife in 92. As soon as my son can read a little better, he is 7, I'll be taking it again with him.

BadDog,

Here's the avatar I promised you.
If you like it, I'll brighten up the colors in photoshop and resend it.

I took the course a few years ago. Well worth time and dough.

I'm taking it this year too. (Not the 8 week course.)
