For known performance boat names:

Cigarette
Fountain
Scarab
Formula
Baja

Usually it's easier for me, when they haven't heard of a Scarab, to say "like a cigarette boat."
And then right away they get it !!!

I think that most non boat people will reconize the name SeaRay the most.

When asking the everyday boat owner to name a brand of powerboat, I give the edge to Cigarette the most. Not from the boat itself, but from the generaliztion that all fast boats are cigarettes. Kinda like all locking pliers are generally called vise grips.
So my list is
1) Cigarette, as all go fast boats, (if they only knew )
2) Baja, because of more exposure

If they don't know those 2, they won't know anymore as far as speed boats.

I aske the guys in the office who have been at the lake several times. None have ever owned a boat.
1 Cigarette
2. Scarab
3. Baja
4. Fountain

None never even heard the name Formula before I asked them.
