Ben Kramer first and foremost is what RUINED Apache. I don't give a damn what anyone says, thats the facts! PERIOD

He got his ass kicked almost every race by Don (THE KING) Aronow. THEN got screwed by him on paper with USA racing. Don OWNED Ben Kramer, so he had him whacked like the ***** he is.

The company wouldn't have ever probably started without his weed money. The company wouldn't have gotten so ****ed up without him. AND there wouldn't be Apache, commanche, and whatever other damn molds scattered all over south Florida!

SPWilson 03-13-2003 03:33 PM

Please, if you dont know the facts my firend you had better stick to the us marine/ bayliner/ searay thread
here comes trouble!

Actually.....I don't think Ben and Don ever raced against each other.............

The whole thing seems to really upset you.......... Take a chill...it happened almost 20 years ago.........and Ben has lived a rotten life since.

As far as Don Aronow is concerned.......There's an old saying.......

my hull is down to nothing, IT WOULD COST ME THE SAME TO RE RIG MINE AS IT WOULD A NEW 47 HULL, SO IF I COULD BUY A NEW 47 HULL IT WOULD BE NO DIFFERENT IN COST NOT INCLUDING THE HULL, I JUST LOVE THE LINES OF KEMOSABE!

BattleCry 03-13-2003 10:19 PM

Sling,

It all depends on what you want to do. After all, its only money. I've had me ear to the ground and don't really know what is going to happen with the mold. All it takes is MONEY, RIGHT!:)

SPWilson 03-13-2003 10:29 PM

If Slings wants a 47, then Sling gets a 47!
Any questions?

Just tell me the color gel to spray, if it's trips and leave the rest up to Steve1!

SLINGSHOT 03-13-2003 10:42 PM

NICE:) YOU LEFT WHAT KIND OF BEER

BattleCry 03-13-2003 11:12 PM

Sling,

Then just buy Kemosobe. Its still for sale.

rockstrmkr 03-14-2003 08:40 AM

Guys-

Go back a page and re-read Dr.Santiago's posts.
Hearing from him on this subject is probably as close to hearing from Mr.McManus on this board as you are going to get.
1.Todd has the "original" 47 mold.
2.The mold that was made from the blue-printed Kemosabe and stretched to 51' is @ McManus' shop.

No mystery....

All the best,
Hans

SLINGSHOT 03-14-2003 08:50 AM

kemosabe is 12 years old, and I would never pay that much for it, easier to get a new hull, and start fresh, instead of tearing it down and re rigging it, just my opinion though

True true.

SLINGSHOT 03-14-2003 09:01 AM

it may not i am just going off of the fact that it is older

BLee 03-14-2003 09:21 AM

Why is everyone soooo crazy about Kemosabe? There are some much better looking and rigged 47's out there.

BLee 03-14-2003 09:24 AM

I wish I could have called some of you a month ago.

I could have sold you the 47 "Geronimo." I guy I know has owned it for around 4 years and just sold it CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.

SLINGSHOT 03-14-2003 10:01 AM

didnt know there was a 47 geronimo, i think you are confused its a 41, all yellow and purple with gernomino on the side

BLee 03-14-2003 10:20 AM

Red, yellow, blue, green. Yellow interior, 6 man bolster. No cabin. AAAHhhh your right, it was a 41!! Has a big picture of the actual "Geronimo" on the front. And has GERONIMO written all the way down the side. Extremely good condition. Wet sump 6's. Sold with power under 200.

even under 200k is crazy, BUT.....................

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK YOUR FACTS, I WAS TOLD BY THE OWNER IT WAS SOLD NO POWER, OR DRIVES WITH TRAILER FOR UNDER A 100K, WHICH IS WHAT HE OFFERED TO SELL IT TO ME

MOST WERE OLD RACE BOATS(JUNK) OR PLEASURE BOATS

BLee 03-14-2003 10:38 AM

He may have. Last I talked to him he would do whatever it took to get rid of it. I saw him 2 days ago, and he said he finally sold it. He said he gave it away basically. I live 2 houses down from him. It was a really nice rig. He must have done something else with the power and drives because he had them for awhile. But, the boat was with no power when I saw it in December. Why didn't you buy it for the price he gave you??

SLINGSHOT 03-14-2003 10:39 AM

BECAUSE I GOT A BETTER DEAL ON BETTER EQUIPMENT, PLUS ITS WAY FASTER

BLee 03-14-2003 10:44 AM

sweet. Geronimo wasn't very fast. It would make a perfect poker run boat. Before that boat he owned only Formulas. I think he was disapointed that it didn't run faster, because his Formulas were SLOOOOOW. What did you end up getting?

rockstrmkr 03-14-2003 10:44 AM

The reason everyone is "crazy" about "Kemosabe" is that it has the staightest bottom of any of the 47's...blueprinted bottom..
Plus, Mark Adams is meticulous, so you know there's nothing wrong with it.

BLee 03-14-2003 10:48 AM

Why doesn't someone step up to the plate and write a check for it?

ITS ALOT OF DOUGH FOR WHAT IT IS, AND WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT, WHEN YOUR BATTING 250K PLUS MOST GUYS CAN AFFORD AN OUTERLIMITS OR SKATER WITH TWO ENGINES INSTEAD OF THREE, AND THE BOAT IS NEAR NEW OR NEW NOT 12 YEARS OLD, ITS A TOUGH SALE

Thats definitly the reason. I wouldn't even think of buying something that old for that price. It just seems like sooo many Apache fans love it. How much was it new? Why didn't they blueprint all of the 47's that way?

sgrady 03-17-2003 10:53 AM

Just to keep this burning a little. I was at Bobby's shop on 188th Street back in the late 90's. ( I think it was around 97 or 98, during the "Jan Costa era"). There was a mold in there, I thought it was a 47 and they were making a Deck Plug for a 42 or 43 that he called a "Renegade". I may be off a little but I am sure they plugged it short for this model.

Later the stepped versions (New Tech) had a 43, therefore I thought that was the plug made. This of course was before the New Tech deal.

I am sure I have some pics of the mold and deck somwhere if I look. Maybe someone from Apache can confirm with Bob. The deck looked more like a 36 deck, than the original 47 decks.

SLINGSHOT

I seen Kemosabe at Key West, nice boat. Agree though asking big $$$$$. Why are you not keeping the Comanche ? That boat was nice in it's day !!!

sgrady 03-17-2003 10:57 AM

Hans,

Thanks, nice to see you are around. Coming to Chicago this summer ?:D

Drop me a line.
