Who Has The 47 Apache Hull And Deck Molds

WHERE KEMOSABE CAME FROM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

SPWilson 03-11-2003 08:34 PM

i do, why? what do you need?:D

Andy Buzz 03-11-2003 09:08 PM

Visit www.searace.com at Hawk Power. Talked to Todd yesterday and says he has the molds and can build boat and motors.

SPWilson 03-11-2003 10:15 PM

I believe that the "real" Apache may be building the 47 again, not 100% sure, but it has been discussed. Call Bobby for an update.

BattleCry 03-12-2003 01:09 AM

SPWilson, you do?

buckknekkid 03-12-2003 05:44 AM

Brooklyn Bridge

I have a 47 foot section for sale. Seeing is believing so its worth a trip to find out what anyone is saying:fish: :fish:

dyno 03-12-2003 05:57 AM

I thought Sabre had them .......

SABER28 03-12-2003 06:13 AM

SABER has the original 41 foot molds that WARPATH was made off, i believe that the 47 deck was sectioned together from a 41 deck mold. so there is no 47 deck mold.

i'll catch hell for this , but the SABER is a much better 41 than the original in terms of construction. ask APACHE KID about the solidness of his former APACHE:rolleyes:

SABER28 03-12-2003 06:15 AM

spitfire1 03-12-2003 06:51 AM

Sabre 28.......I am confused and maybe you can clear it up......this is a website dedicated to boating enthusiasts.....the majority of the major boat builders today owe their heritage to one man...that would be Mr. Donald Aronow......the man responsible for his murder would be one Ben Kramer......Why would you have a post script to free not only a murderer but one who is responsible for the murder of the man who is probably "the" individual that contributed the most to this great sport.....??? I am at a total loss as to why you attach something like this to your posts??? Enlighten me...........

Zoomnfun 03-12-2003 07:05 AM

I was going to add check with Battle Cry, I think he has the handle on the 47 molds.

wannabe 03-12-2003 07:34 AM

McMannus or Bob S.

These guys will know.

I think Mcmannus may have one but not sure. He repaired a damaged 47' with a "new" hull in98'. But this may have been a hull he had on hand?

There are no 47 deck molds per se according to the thread. They are sectioned together from a 41' and other pieces.

SLINGSHOT 03-12-2003 08:17 AM

FOR CLARIFICATION I SAID 47' NOT 41' , AND PARTICULARY THE SAME MOLD THAT KEMOSABE CAME FROM. IS IT AROUND, DESTROYED OR WHAT? I DON'T WANT TO HEAR WHO CAN BUILD WHAT , JUST WHO HAS POSSESION OF THAT EXACT MOLD. DONT MEAN TO START ANOTHER WAR HERE JUST AKED A SIMPLE QUESTION

SPWilson 03-12-2003 09:03 AM

Actually, many moons ago, there were shirts printed up after Ben went away that said "Free Ben Kramer"...many wore them, many didn't! May be a "collectors" item by now!

lucy 03-12-2003 09:22 AM

i have one original shirt if anyone cares. but if you are looking for a cause, why not free the indianapols 500.

BLee 03-12-2003 09:26 AM

You'd be shot for wearing that shirt..................nice Lucy

SLINGSHOT 03-12-2003 11:54 AM

Fact is Kramer had a big set of balls. you can't deny that , murder drug dealer, or boat guy....

SPWilson 03-12-2003 11:58 AM

Fact is Kramer had a big set of balls. you can't deny that , murder drug dealer, or boat guy....
Ya Think?

spitfire1 03-12-2003 12:40 PM

I fail to see how it takes balls to hire someone to kill a guy that you grew up idolizing.......I think the story goes...the truth of the matter is... I believe.... that he knew he could never duplicate or even come close to Don's achievements in the offshore arena, In any case the fact of the matter is the courts found him guilty and those that I have talked to that have personally known Mr. Kramer have had nothing positive to say about him...He didnt get to be where he is by being a stand up guy.......

rainmn 03-12-2003 01:13 PM

Glad to see someone else shares my point of view on this. I'll never understand the respect people show for the guy.

sgrady 03-12-2003 02:10 PM

My .02, Kramer is a part of the history of Offshore. The many that raced against him and knew him in the "Hey Days" of Ft. Apache seen the racer not the "Bad" guy. If you were ever at Ft. Apache in it's day, it was the Offshore Meca. I really do not think anyone shows the respect for his days of a bad guy. He is just part of the story.

I can remeber those days, Offhsore was different back then.

Slinshot, there was a mold for sale here a while ago. Not sure where it is now. I know Bobby, Stinson, Rockstarmkr would be willing to tell you where they are at.

spitfire1 03-12-2003 02:50 PM

Fair enough.......he did have some high spots in his career as an offshore racer.....but it doesnt excuse him for what ultimately brought him down......Lets call a spade a spade and not glorify someone for having Don Aronow murdered......

rockstrmkr 03-12-2003 02:50 PM

Scott -
well said....and let's not forget when Apache sold the most boats:

When Benny's legal trouble landed him in the headlines and his bad-boy "image" sold the boats....

ps- Benny was good to his people...just ask
Augie Z. and the old guard!

Kind regards,
Hans

As far as the 47' mold? I'm sure Shanblatt knows, Stinson must know as well...
An assumption? McManus has the molds...

searace 03-12-2003 02:52 PM

Yes, we have the 47' original Apache molds(hull). there never was a 47 deck mold...all 47's came from the 41' deck mold. And....god i hope answering this doesnt start all that other stuff again... life's too short.

Todd

spitfire1 03-12-2003 02:56 PM

Yeah........he was good to his people ........and he had Don Aronow killed.........

rockstrmkr 03-12-2003 03:04 PM

Spitfire1 -
Not looking to open a can of worms here, but Benny pled no contest for a reason...people that know the back ground can fill in the blanks, it's not my place.

In no way am I condoning any of it...but there is a lot more to it than "Searace", the book!

Don't mean to offend, nor will I continue to post on the subject...

All the best,
Hans

spitfire1 03-12-2003 03:12 PM

Yes....there is obviously alot more to it than "Searace".......there are many opinions on the subject.....but facts are facts....I have personally spoken to the lead Detective on the case at one time and he filled in alot of squares for me one nite.....the fact that he plead no contest doesnt exonerate him one iota as far as I am concerned........I am sure he had his reasons.......Did he have Don Aronow murdered...the courts thought so........I guess only Ben knows for sure.......but it sure would have been nice to have Don around for awhile longer........who knows what we were ultimately robbed of.....no offense taken Hans.....Rich

rockstrmkr 03-12-2003 03:14 PM

Oh, and before I forget, Todd is correct. There was never a deck mold made for the 47...the decks were all stretched 41's...
I think that may account for the subtle differences between the individual 47's...
Evidently the most unique deck and fairing are on "Running Brave".

Hans

Zero Cavity 03-12-2003 03:23 PM

Apache (McManus) never made a "deck" mold for the 47 Apache.
Hawk Power has the one and original "hull" mold for the 47 Apache.

SPWilson 03-12-2003 03:37 PM

lets talk molds here!

spitfire1 03-12-2003 03:45 PM

There is alot of speculation about that particular transaction.......the real story,.....I dont know except what I have read and what I have heard......I think Don was a very cunning businessman......He was no angel by any means I guess.......but I can think of no justification for the murder, can you?? Those that know more about that transaction arent talking........and I think that there are those on this board that do know quite a bit of the goings on back then.......I apologize to Sling for sidetracking his thread.......It just irks me to see someone pay homage to a guy that took the King of offshore from us.......Rich .........As a side note....this response doesnt make much sense because Mr. Wilson decided to delete his original post for reasons of his own.........

JEEZ GOTTA BE REAL SPECIFIC

SLINGSHOT 03-12-2003 06:15 PM

I can't believe that Stu introduced Ben Kramer's son on stage, and he put his fist in the air and said something like "Long live Apache!"
