Boat 2000 36 Outlaw
Had: Stock 502's EFIs with Stainless Marine Headers 1.5 Bravo ones with labbed by Merc Bravo 1 24 pitch Speed- 67 to 69 Now: Top Mount Whipples with 6 lbs. 502s had new hyd. roller cams (builder will not give out specs). Merlin steel heads. Imco SC Extreme drives 1.5 What would be the new hp and the new speed. I know their are some holes not filled to determine the speed. But give it a stab! Props to be determined. Probably 30 to 32. |
Sounds like he did it right ,just takes bucks !
Thats a heavy boat isn't it ?? |
Figure it out!

502 EFI +415
Whipple 6# +250/220@prop Roller Cam/Heads +25/+20@prop Everything else (headers, drive) help the setup last a bit! Total 645@prop x 2= 1290hp Baja 36 Outlaw Dry 8300# wet, people&gear 9000+# No step in the hull. My amaterish guess 85 MPH |

I think 85ish is a pretty good guess.
I would say more along the lines of 83-85 gps....... |
Allen4 =84.5, GLH 85, Shane 89, Cord 82.5, Tim G 73, Fever Mike 78.5, jt29olhp500's 85.5,

Re: I'm impressed with your homework but
Originally posted by MIKEHTMSR24 you need to do more research on what a top mount will put on a stock 502 then add more hp due to the cam and heads.:fish: :fish:  |
208 MPH! Watch out Callan!:p :p ;) ;) I would say 89. Good luck.:)

Originally posted by GLH I told you I'm an amateur when it comes to engines most of those words are chinese to me!!!I don't know sh!t just using what I got.:D :D :D Let us know how fast! Here's a formula that may be of use to some of us sometime into the future sq root of new hp / sq root of old hp x old speed = new speed:rolleyes: |
My dealer up here just did one. As I recall, he was in the low 80's. I'm guessing those motors were around 800hp.
|
Speed
I'd say 73. Yep 73.
I've never seen a brand B pull more than 75.:D Probably gonna need those 30's. Doub't if she'll pull the 32's. Good luck, and remember... BOAT means Break Out Another Thousand.  |
My guess: 84-87
PBM tested one with 575's, ran like.......... 82. Your buddies boats running more boost, should be worth a couple of ticks. my .02 |
Not quite enough info, but I'd take a stab at it and say somewhere in the mid 84.5 ? Those 5s & 10s are hard to come by.

|
One motor and drive is on the boat,
he is waiting for dyno time to dyno one of the motors. The second drive is ready to install. I would say a week and a half at the most. More than likely a week.

1/4 fuel, plus +/- 400lbs is about 9220#
I'm going with 79mph |
82 maybe 83 tops.
|
Go to bed Daddy:D
|
I am going to say 78-80 depending on temperature.

I have a bud that put the 2 inch shorty on his 25 outlaw, single 502 built with blower about 750hp picked up 4mph, next the box go's on. He's going 87 mph and it feel's like 200 in that thing.
|
hey Mike, didnt the one at Lake Murray do 80 to 81? It had 500's and stand off boxes. Then they changed to a couple of 800sc's. Do you know who I'm talking about?
|
yes i do
I can't remember what he told us but I thought it was in the low 90s but that was when he had bravos and was breaking them left and right. Now i think he has speedmasters on it. 3 or 4?? don't know too much on speedmasters. out of my range$$$$

|
I'm gonna go long at 88 mph
|
82 mph. 1/4 tank & 2 peeps. $hitter empty and 1-1/2 ft. Chop.:p
|
Hey Mike, the boat on Murray is Jeff Acres. He is in the low 90's with 2 Tyler Blower Motors and #3'S. With 500hp's and Stand Off Boxes he was 77-78.
I am going to guess 82-83 on your buddys boat, hope his drives hold up. Jeff broke 5 or 6 Bravos and a couple broke while just cruzn. Jan |
So where do we stand ? How long before we know ?
|
80 even!
|
79 - 80
|
I say 82.2 cause my GPS never stops on an even number. Rag's
