I think everyone should have to write out a check for their taxes each year, instead of having witholding, and waiting anxoiusly for a refund. When everyone actually "feels" how much in taxes they pay.... I think there would be a loud enough cry to do something about it.

As a farmer, I had to write out my check by the 1st of March.
