The webmaster of the Destin Poker Run Site made a mistake by naming it an Apache Hawk. I called her and it was corrected...
Julio says YOU are full of BS and that he NEVER had ANYONE pick up molds for him. ESPECIALLY you, ALSO, he would like to speak to YOU personally - NOW what do you have to say? Want his home number?

Not to break up the disscussion, but a friend of mine from Miami always spoke highly of the Scorpion as a great smuggling boat! And yes, he did end up in jail for it.

funny this reply just came from FAU.............
I have your inquiry regarding a naval architecture program at FAU. I have contacted three departments - Ocean Engineering, Architecture (a 5-year bachelor's degree program) and Civil Engineering, and they tell me we don't have naval architecture. Ocean Engineering did say they have courses in Structures, Materials and Hydro-Mechanics, but they are all part of their master's degree.
I hope this helps.

"Thank you for your interest in the Tempest 27'. The styling on the 27' was
created by the late Mr. Ferdinand Porsche from Porsche Automobiles combined
with the engineering of Tempest's President Adam Erdberg. Together the two
created a magnificently riding, eye attracting vessel that has the most
elegant lines in it's class. The boats were produced in Miami under the
close supervision of Tempest's Engineers and have been performing flawlessly
in operation since inception. These vessels were built only as custom
orders with interiors and engine options reflecting owner's tastes. The
engine options ranged from single to dual Porsche, single Mercruiser, and
single gas turbine installation. Colors ranged from Platinum Silver for the
Porsche package, Pristine White for the turbine package, and Daytona Yellow
for the Mercruiser package. The cockpit layout includes two racing bucket
seats, two passenger seats, and a large swim bathing pad located over the
engine compartment. The cabin includes a walk in area to a carpeted runway
that leads into a comfortable bed for two. The OEM pricing for the Tempest
27' varied for different engine packages: (1) Twin Porsche engines US
$155,000. (2) Single gas turbine US $129,000 (3) Single Mercruiser US
$79,000. Speeds range from upper 70s to mid 50 fifties depending on weight at
delivery. Out of the three models the turbine was the "coolest" the Porsche
powered boat was the most powerful and the Mercruiser model was the most
practical. The Turbine boat requires hefty gasoline bills and an exclusive
maintenance agreement with Tempest to insure engine longevity. The Porsche
boat requires the largest upfront investment and had warranty problems with
the engines due to the fact that only Porsche in Germany would touch these
special engines designed for the 27. The most practical solution of the
Tempest 27 is a Mercruiser 7.4 HO coupled to a Bravo One drive that has
operated with no problems since delivery. This vessel happens to be the
least expensive and the most troublefree out of the three models. Tempest's President built a
27' Mercruiser model for his son without any expense considered. The boat has
been meticulously maintained and the vessel is available for demonstration.
The owner has not listed the boat for sale although has hinted that US
$35,000 would allow him to part with it. The Daytona Yellow Tempest 27' is
located in Miami Beach and available for inspection if necessary."
