I believe Mr. Brown (who's got your lovely daughter) is referring to (here goes nothin!):

1. Factory 1- APBA
2. Factory 1-SBI
3. Factory 2-APBA
4. Factory 2-SBI
5. Super cat Lite APBA
6. Super Cat Lite-SBI
7. Super Cat lite OB twin APBA
8. Super Cat Lite OB triple-APBA
9. Super Cat Lite OB SBI
10. Super Cat APBA
11. Super Cat SBI
12. Super Boat SBI
13. Super Vee lite Single APBA (or whatever you call "A" class)
14. Super Vee Lite single SBI (ditto)
15. Super Vee -APBA
16 Super Vee-SBI
17. Super Vee (Vortec) single- APBA (This class may not exist)
18. Super vee lite twin (Vortec)-APBA
19. One Design- Reindl- APBA
20. Outlaw Performance 1 APBA
21. Outlaw Performance 1 SBI
22. Outlaw Performance 2 APBA
23. Outlaw Performance 2 SBI
24. Outlaw Performance 3 APBA
25. Outlaw Performance 3 SBI
26. Outlaw Performance 4 APBA
27. Outlaw Performance 4 SBI
28. Outlaw Performance 5 APBA
29. Outlaw Performance 5 SBI
30...... Isn't there another "One Design" class with Baja's or some such?
31. UIM 1
32. UIM 2
33. UIM 3
34. UIM 4

I apologise if I left anybody out, or if I added a class or two that may not exist (at the moment). But that pretty well sums up your basic World, National and Regional "Champeen" opportunities.

And if you don't find this ridiculous....... you can't have dinner with either Brownie or myself.

Question

How many of these classes actually race or can race with out changing something in the same class in the US and Over seas?
I know in OPC we have several that are truely World classes, for example the APBA OPC chairman is going to Europe to train the UIM inspectors on inspecting the SST120/Formula2 class. They might not be the same name but operate with the same engine and boat configuration.

It's not a question of "can".....it's always been a question of "would". Offshore has a long tradition of spreading its limited talent pool over as many classes as possible so that more "wins" can be accomplished. It would be a heck of a sport if all the top guys were forced to race against each other.................. But than we wouldn't have all those "champions" and "world record holders"..........would we?

One more thought..........

All of the classes also inflate boat counts at the races........

To some it sounds better to say that 84 boats showed up at East Entwhistle, Indiana......(in 19 classes)

Then to announce that 25 top boats and drivers duked it out in X class, and the winner eked out a 6'' margin at the finish.

Ienjoy jisten to some of you guys fight about offshore.we have been in this sport for about 15yrs straight and love the competition let the powers work it out. if we were in it for the money we would have quit 14yrs ago.your business planner would tell you to quit . i hope we can make money at this someday been saying that for 13yrs)classes need to be smaller way to many !!! lets race and have fun. the petting zoo thing was a little over the top!!! we are friends out there.so quit being so stubborn.. we help each other get ready for races if you can not be a sportsman like that get the f*** out and race r/c boats
