25 outlaw prop questions
#3
I have a 01 25 Outlaw w/496HO also. 23+ is the best prop for that boat. I never had problems getting on plane with it. If I had a full tank I would just drop the tabs down a bit. Tried a 4 blade and it planed great but handled like crap. These boats like the 3 blade. (needs bow lift) I put a 3.5lb procharger kit on it and now run a labbed 27 mirage+. Also tried a 2" shorter lower and I lost 3-4mph. I was told that the 25's that came from the factory with the ext. box did not gain any mph either. A guy at the lake cumberland poker run had a 29 outlaw and he said he had 1" lowers on it and picked up a couple mph.

Been there done that. With a full load of fuel and 5 people, I could hardly get on plane in my 24 Outlaw
It was spinning at about 5500. I tried a 24 Bravo 1 and a 23 Rev4. I didn't like the Rev4. Too much stern lift and lost 4+mph. The Bravo dropped the rpm to 5200 with only a 1-2mph loss on top. It got rid of the porpoising and the boat got on plane much easier and had a faster cruise speed.
