Let's try this again, not sure what happened to the first thread.

Give me your honest opinion. Is there anyone offering something like this already?

I am tired of using a hand pump to fill up the outdrives with gear oil. Could not find anything at West Marine, Boaters World etc that you could buy that would do the job automatically, so I made something.

Let me introduce the "Dock Holiday" self contained 12 volt gear oil pump. I tried it out last night and it filled an outdrive in about 15 minutes. It is slow enough that you don't have a mess when the oil passes the vent plug and you have plenty of time to turn it off before you have to worry about an overflow out the fill bottle.

Warning: "Not For Use On 42 Sonics :D

They moved it to the Parts for Sale section, but now it's gone.

I like the idea, Dock. It would make things a whole lot easier. I do wonder what happened to the other thread? It says 'moved'...where?

Hell, I could even hook up to my emergency battery jumper pack. Cool.

Fred,

The 115 Volt idea is the way to go, but I have less in this entire setup than the price of a 115 volt pump!

Just wanted to share this idea with all my OSO brothers and sisters. They are easy to make and I will be glad to help anyone out on one!

Did not even know if it would work, but much to my surprise it worked "GREAT":D

Thanks for the input.

I made something of the same sorts but air powered......holds 3quarts of oil and all you do is hookup an air line and slowly open the air supply line......nice and quick! :D

PhantomChaos 06-12-2003 10:37 AM

Are you supposed to have oil in the outdrives? :D :D :D
