Default Buy boat or run parents...

With the 4.3 build up planned, everything seems to add up to 2800ish...

Found an old Sleek Craft Jet Boat, 455 Olds bored 60 over, berkley jet drive, a few other goodies, runs, for 750.

I know I would put more money into the jet boat, but if it was bought and in my name (instead of parents) do you think it would be worth it?

Thanks,
Tommy

Check into insurance first

When I first bought my boat I was 19 and I had a hard time finding a company that would even consider insuring my boat just because of my age Ended up with State Farm, fairly cheap too

Liability...can never hurt. In dads name it is only 100$ every year, so it isnt that bad of a deal. (insured for 3k, trailer, and whatever else i put on it up to 3k....) Had to say hp was 385, i figure thats a good estimate 445, 454 mag is 385, so I put 385

Get hooked up with a board member and go look at the boat. I'm concerned about the $750 price.

Tommy, where is the boat at? If it is local and I get some free time after working the bugs out of my ride, I would be more than happy to go with you to look at it.

continue with parents. It will cost you alot mor ethan you think. Maintenance gets expensive. INsurance is never going to happen cus your young (hell i'm 22 and barely get insured)

If you are tight on cash don't start a project boat it will never get finished.

Thrill- It was in Baltimore.

Puder, good point, I was hoping on buying a 90 Talon and doing the turbo motor swap to it, so I guess you are right, I wont get 2 things done at once.
