It also appears in the photograph of the salvaged boat, that the props are turning in.

So true! Thanks.

That ** WAS ** a damn pretty boat. What a nightmare for that poor slob - and his passengers.

How cocky and brilliant do you feel now?

WOW WOW velocity guys slow down did not mean to rip on any boat. As a matter fact i thought of the velocity ad when I saw the pic's.

I'm sorry if I was not clear by what I meant. I know that it was a fountain. I get a kick on the velocity campaign saying that there boats don't spin out like step bottoms.

HOW COULD ONE FEEL COCKY AND BRILLIANT WITH ALL THE GREAT MINDS ON THIS FORUM.

Default The Learning Curve & The Edge

As i've said over and over the problem with step's is the transition or where's the "edge". This guy obviously blew it big time, but over the years so have I ( never with a boat full of people) there is no comparison of how a step comes around vs a straight V, PERIOD. Thank god no one was hurt, but the insurance companies are always gonna lump all performance boats together and as more and more of these snap rolls take place we're all eventually going to be paying for it. Those of you that have experienced slides in both types of hulls know that if it had not been stepped, it would have been a wall of water, a hell of a scare, some bad bruises and a lesson never to be forgotten. Yes, drivers will always be making mistakes, regardless of the type of hull, it's the severity of the results that worry me.

BTW that aft section of deck coming off does'nt give me the warm & fuzzy, did they stop fully glassing the joint ? Of course it could also be giving us some indication of just how violent the snap was.

Too old..

Great avitar

I dont think anyone is blaming Fountain or stepped hulls in general.

As previously stated...Guns dont kill people..People kill people.

This was obviously a case of blatant disregard for safety and / or ignorance to high performance boat handling. And I dont think anyone here argues that point.
