Default Opinions on boost

I am running 468s with good internals..No Intercoolers
4 lbs boost from Blower shop 871s.......
People are telling me i can go 5-5.5 lbs no problem....4 lbs is just overcoming the drag from blowers.
I don't do any of those long WFO runs...just short burst when needed

Whadaya think ?

Compression ratio ? Heads ? You need more details in order to make those calls.

Birdog,

Cat's right...put those coolers on there big boy!!! I keep mine at 5lbs, your motors could do 5 or 5.5 pretty easy.

Not to argue but I've run little 250 b&m blowers for years on 468's and 482's with 6 pounds and no innercooler and 8.75 to 9 to 1 comp. so the 8-71 is even bigger hence much less heat than even a B&M mega blower -420/6-71--. sooo the 6 lbs on bird dog should be fine unless theres something big he's not disclosing
It does take about 2.75 to 3 on the dyno to make up for the 8-71 parasitic loss
Bird dog your wasting money with that blower unless you spin it harder and a innercooler is not needed in your case with the facts I know .
just put in some new plugs make a pass short hard one read plugs and adjust from there and run about 32* total timing syn.oil ,,MSD,, and smile
