Since Boot mentioned it ...
The Formula is definately a comfortable ride ... but you have to be happy with cruising in the 40-50 mph range. It does offer a big cabin for overnighting (which I've never used), and a pretty good size cockpit.
If your interested drop me an e-mail (I don't get to the board much on the weekends) or call 410-507-1051. Should also mention it is a pretty big rig to trailer if you can't keep it on a lift or in a boatel.

My Alura 30 hit the paper this morning and nobody called yet. Where the hell are all those people that were saying what a great looking boat this was?
Anyway, one more question for now anyway, and it's on my least favorite subject...Insurance. do you guys get whacked on these performance boats? The rule of thumb on a family cruiser boat is a premium of about 2% of insured value. That what you get ?

Come on guys...John Gov wants to cruise. For that you need to have an enclosed head. My wife demanded it, now I know she was right. Do not consider any boat for cruising unless it has an enclosed head.
Also, if you have not peeed in your boat (into a porto potti or other designated instrument), you are not a real cruiser. <gg>
My opinion on the cruising requirement of having a nonskid walkaround and large hatches still stands. There are other good go fast boats out there, but only Sonics have non skid walkarounds to my knowledge.
Go Sonic, 30 feet or better! All performance boats will feel cramped after your boat. But, I'd be happy to sell you my products that transform your engine hatch into a deck, depending in your boat. <gg>
For insurance, I now pay $2,700 a year, no claims, appraised value of about $70K. It used to be $600.00, so perhaps the 60/70s muscle car insurance story is repeating itself for boats now.

Hey Peconic, it was great seeing you a couple of weekends ago heading into the Shinnecock canal behind the "card boat". We were coming back from Martha's Vineyard.
Is that headset you were wearing connected to your radio or the cell phone?
Your online charts are still the best I have seen.
