They actually set it right in the water. There are big rubber tubes that go over the forks and each fork can move hydraulicly in several directions. What is amazing is to watch the boat and lift bounce as they drive them.

Looney Tune,
Who did you talk to, Alex? Did they say what was wrong with it? Maybe they will fix that bushing on the right fork while they are at it.

I am sure they will do what ever they can, the fork operators will be pissed if they miss out on labor day weekend tips!

It still surprises me that an operation as big as Skipper Buds only has one fork. Bald Knob has 3 of them, go figure...

Rick

p.s. did you download those pictures yet for me?

How big of a facility is this? How can they only have one fork truck? We have three running at our marina.

Here is a link to the Northpoint location.

They have 3 large sheds, two are mainly used for the fork operation. Spring and fall they put in/out over 900 boats from/for storage.

Thanks for the link.
Looks like a nice, large facility from the pics.
They need another truck.

Rick, I sent the pics to you via Offshore Only Private message. I assume by your message you did not get them. Maybe check your PM mail box. If not pls give me you're e-mail address and I will e-mail them tommorow.

As far as the Fork, I spoke to Jim W at Skippers. It did not sound encouraging.

Elliot,
Thanks, I got them. I sent you a reply.

Hope they are trying to get a back up just in case?

Looney Tune 08-27-2003 02:24 PM

The wife had a good idea...If they can't get it fixed, everyone come over for a broken fork truck pool party.
