Default Feedback on used 33-37 OS models

I'm shopping for a used powerboat and it seems this site is the best resource for honest feedback - I hope these questions don't bore...

My boat requirements are:
1) A 1st class offshore boat - top notch construction, fit, finish.
2) Excellent handling characteristics in rough water, a DRY, comfortable and SAFE ride.
3) Modern, efficient hull design, excellent speed w/given power.
4) Decent amenities/windshield/cabin, not stripped for race.
4) Accessibility to dealer/mfgr for info, upgrades and warranty work.

Since I live in NJ, these brands are common in my area, and they are my choices so far are:

A) Fountain 35 Lightning (99 or 00 up)
B) Formula 353 Fastech (99 up)
C) Cigarette 35 (or 31 Bullet if you can find one)
D) Outerlimits 37
E) Huslter 388 (or 344?)
F) Scarab 33 AVS (or a Larry Smith if you can find one)

The ideal boat would have stock power that is in the HP500 range or Bulldogs.
The budget is not unlimited so recommendations on specific hull/motor combinations on any of these is more than welcome. Thanks!

There is a big difference in price between a 31 bullet, 35 fountain, 388 slingshot and a 37 OL!

You can probably pick up a 31 bullet in the 45-50K range.
The fountain for probably 100+K
A slingshot in the mid to upper 100s.
And the OL for even more.
That is quite a range you are working with.
If you give the guys here a price range to work with, I bet they can find you your ride.

Joe,

There's one thing you didn't tell us...where you gonna use it.

"My boat requirements are:
1) A 1st class offshore boat - top notch construction, fit, finish.
2) Excellent handling characteristics in rough water, a DRY, comfortable and SAFE ride.
3) Modern, efficient hull design, excellent speed w/given power.

4) Accessibility to dealer/mfgr for info, upgrades and warranty work. "

My 2000 35 Lightning Classic is in the classified section. I think the boat has the right power, equipment and options, but...
I also think its more of a river /lake boat. It has the power and speed you're looking for and all of the heavy duty equipment you need to go offshore. But I think if you're gonna operate predominantly offshore, you need to think about 38' or bigger.

You've got Trenton Marine close by that services both Fountain and Formula.

Bill
