Sorry, but no. I know 4 people with male dogs from there. They each have the same problems:

-All 4 had testicles (or a testicle) that did not descend requiring invasive surgery to neuter
-3 have hip dysplasia
-1 is aggressive and all have started fights with other dogs in Central Park
-2 have had stomach problems

All 4 owners love their puppies, but would not buy a dog from Gold Rush again. The dogs are beautiful but the breeder does not seem to be the best.

I am sorry you lost your Golden, they are great dogs! I rescued a male Golden shortly after I got back from Nam. Now I realize that it was he who rescued me.

I breed and show Irish Wolfhounds now but if you need any info on kennels I have quite a few contacts in the dog world. You are right to be careful as I hear disturbing things about the Goldens.

I didn't lose the Golden, it was Raddiction on the board.
It sounds like there are quite a few that have them and they all love them tremendously!
Ours will be spoiled rotten as well!

We found our new pup!
We will be picking him up Christmas eve.

For any of you interested, there is a really great couple in Garden City, Ks. that has one litter a year, keeps them in the garage in an immaculate facility, and they and their kids handle the pups daily!

We definitely lucked out!
They had 5 girls and 5 boys in the litter, and last I checked, they had all the females left and two males.

They would ship, although they haven't done that before.

They are very resonably priced at 300 each.
They have great healthy bloodlines (no hip or eye problems).
If anyone is intereseted, PM me and I will forward their number.

THere are two types of goldens being bred. The darker red dogs are generally refered to as the field dogs and are generally larger and leaner. The show dogs breaders have moved towards a blonder dog that is short and squaty. I prefer the field dog and in fact own one. I have a close friend who is a breeder of the blond types and has had national recognition. If you want to get in touch with her shoot me an email at ChrisandKathi"at"hotmail.kom

(yes I purposely used the "at" and the K in com to reduce the amunt of spam I get. Works pretty good.)

Topbrass Retrievers... I've known Jackie Mertens since the late 70's. They won't steer you wrong and you'll get a good one.

Someone else posted their web site above. Tell Jackie I said hello, its been a while.
