Your friend should make his way.
Kids should not take care of their parents.
Life is hard enough.
Him suceeding outside of all this sh!t WILL help his family.

That was a huge part of it Reed. Some people can do rehab and it takes. Some just have to lose everything before the reality hits. Either way, they have to want it. No two ways about that. Like I said, there are lots of ugly stories that could be shared. Even now I think about them and wonder what kind of vacation my brain was on to have stayed that long.
Thrill, I truly hope your friend finds something that works for him and his family. It is a long hard road to recovery and there is no "cure" but they can make it work if Dad wants it.

Well Ange.... I guess you can be accused of being "loyal". It seems that anytime I exibit that kind of loyalty, I end up being a door mat. I'm too jaded now. Take care.

He cant help dad.
Do what he can for mom and sis, like move away from
dope head and start a new life. Dad will figure it out
some day and come back crawling or die.
Sad but true, If you think you can change someones
behavior look at how it went last time you tried to change yours. Hope not to offend. JC

The worst part is Fountain27,,,,, they usually do crawl back.... clean up for a while.... and then put the family through the same thing all over again. Sometimes you just have to totally divorce them, DON'T LET THEM BACK.

Going through it right now with my sister-in-law. We have tried but it is hopeless. She's been commited many times to no-avail. She lies, cheats, and steals. Now I will have no part of her. This is her choice, the help and support is there but she does not want it. We don't need this in our lives!
It's a tough desicion to make, but he needs to take care of his family. As far as his father, he can try to continue to help or tell him to go away and never come back. The family will move on.

Crack addictions run in my dads side of the family, along with alcoholism and a horrible gossip problem. I said F*** Them and havent cared about a single one yet. They are all here for a Christmas party, I am up stairs on OSO.
