Well King Poodle didn't go out during the day, but he did come by later when we were rinsing it down. He took it out so I could take a few pics on the water.....first time I had seen it on the water away from the dock. I was stunned at how big it looked and how great the paint came out! :D :D :D

PhantomChaos 01-19-2004 01:44 AM

A better view...... :D :D

Nort awsome. Still can not believe that they paint that stuff outside down there. Would think that the over spray would get all over everything!!!!

You think the X will tow that thing :D:D

sean stinson 01-19-2004 09:15 AM

Norty

Beautiful ride as the resto came out very good bro. I wouldn't let Jeffrey drive it too much as he may run out of gas in it. :D :D

Audiofn 01-19-2004 09:58 AM

Ya that would be a tough one to paddle back home :D:D

Thanks guys! No idea on the top speed yet. It has an electonic speedo in knots.....and it doesn't work (yet) and I didn't have a hand-held GPS with me, and I haven't figured out how the onboard GPS works yet. Any ideas or am I going to RFTM? :D It has three pieces....radar display, some thing below that, and auto pilot.

Range? Ummmmmm. Not sure. I'm guessing with 370 gallons it will make it 1/10 of the way to Hawaii figuring about 1mpg cruise speed.:D :D :D

When we left the harbor in Newport I was doing sixty beside you just as you launched it off a swell:D :D . It actualy lands real smooth and did not create a hugh wall of water on re-entry. Great Catalina boat:p .

magnuman 01-19-2004 02:59 PM

Nort ,
I seem to remember a quote back in the uncensored section.

Looks aren't everything, plus she hated performance boating and wanted me to get a cruiser.
Does this mean these are coming back!!

:D :D:eek:

magnuman 01-19-2004 04:37 PM

P.S.

The wood veneer in the cabin seems to be birdseye maple.

Jeffrey 01-19-2004 05:01 PM

As nice as the photos are - the real deal is all that much nicer! The paint came out awesome and the boat is definately a looker! The one thing I told Nort that needed changing was the anchor. It needs to be increased from holding 20,000 pounds to holding 120,000 pounds! We're going to use it as the first ever official SCOPE floating restaurant and bar! It will need to hold half a dozen offshore powerboats side tied on EACH side!! Why do you think I pushed so hard for him to buy it. Someone in SCOPE had to step up and who better than KING CHAOS himself??

BobbyB 01-19-2004 07:25 PM

magnuman 01-19-2004 07:29 PM

I always remember beautiful women!:D ,
and I remember that one in particular not liking performance boating.

Your new girlfriend outshines your new boat!

As far as post 141 goes, I guess you worked a little harder!

Good luck with all!

Looks great Nort!! Looking forward to lunch runs to "Nort's" in the future!! :D

GLH 01-21-2004 12:56 PM

There is a Video on this page of a Superhawk 48 (very similar too Nort's rig) jumping around a bit, impressive.

Nort

If you need a throttle man to run your new Apache let me know, I will be more than happy to make it fly.

My kind of boat

Bobby Saccenti

Quest for Speed 01-21-2004 08:02 PM

Yes, it is I. The only part of the boat that was still in the water were the drives. Both Trevor and I were laughing our a$$ off and could not believe you got that much boat out of the water.
That boat looks a lot newer than it is and the sound of the triple engines sure gets some surprised looks on the faces of people around the dock.:p
