I have been a marine tech; my whole life and driven everything from 60 to 160. I think when it comes down to it: Fountain has the most speed per HP,per LBS. Please just look at all the records year after year.

I disagree, I believe F1 & 2 are more about acceleration and handling in tight quarters with other boats than it is about the straight up top speed per HP battle as I described above. It's like comparing NASCAR to drag racing or better yet an event at Bonneville. :) All these criteria cannot be compared to the nth degree in any one venue.

EXACTLY... and when that instability is found at those speeds, it's anybody's guess how ugly it's going to be! I was just saying that it could be made much more than just a "terminal speed of whoever's hull" battle and made something more meaningful to me as a perf boat buyer, that's all. :)

Being the fastest is an inevitable scenario, and as long as there is individuality there will always be some one faster. whether its OL or Fountain or skater or the next generation of V's yet too be designed.
good luck to them all ( especially Fountain ) :) :) |
I think it is just a matter of time before the Fiore's branch out into the cat market.
|
Fiore said that as long as he has v bottoms running at these speeds, he sees no reason to start building cats.
